HELP: 18, maybe pregnant, very worried

Hi all,

Im in desperate need of some help, advice, comfort, anything tbh. Im an 18 year old student, currently a first year in university in London and am extremely worried i may be pregnant.

My "partner" is not my boyfriend, rather a man that doesnt really like me and definitely has no intentions to go out with me but keeps me around for sex. Last week on Thursday and Friday we had unprotected sex twice and he finished inside both times. Ive been off the pill for a few months now and my cycle has returned completely back to normal, according to my tracker app i was around 2 days before my most fertile day. So already theres an issue here.

i have noticed feeling a bit off - i wouldnt call it like extreme nausea and i havent vomited however i wake up just not feeling right at all and have moments throughout the day where i start to feel a bit sick. Ive noticed a change in my discharge as well.

This is going to be extremely TMI and i have NO scientific basis for this but when i was on the pill and he came inside i feel like it just immediately came out again because of the plug. When i was off and he finished inside i dont remember the semen leaving that quickly out of my body. Well we had sex yesterday and it fell out immediately like there was a plug.

I wont go through the history of our complicated relationship but basically he has said before that if i were to get pregnant he would want me to keep it. he seems very anti-abortion from just how ive heard him speaking. i myself am pro choice however due to personal reasons do not think i could go through an abortion. If i am pregnant, i would end up having the child of a man that spends time with me by swiping on tinder and complaining about me to his friends.

Any advice or experiences on the first few weeks of pregnancy, any stats on how likely it is im pregnant (i have no fertility issues and have always had a regular period), or any words of comfort would be extremely extremely welcome. thank you

Well personally I dont think you're mature enough to have a baby. Your choice of partner isn't great. Have an abortion and get on with your life.

Wildorchidz · 30/01/2020 07:46

Do you want a baby?

4amWitchingHour · 30/01/2020 07:47

FFS I know MN is the nest of vipers, but stop being goady wankers - there really is a good chance this is a real person feeling scared and asking for advice.

(And certain types of pill do cause sticky mucus and something like a plug to form)

OP - go to your student health service. Yes, you could very well be pregnant, but none of us can tell you that, and a test won't for a few more days either. Seek advice, and think very carefully about your options. You don't have to tell the guy anything, whatever choice you make, make it for you. Can you speak to a friend you trust too? Look after yourself, and ignore the twats

othervoicesotherrooms · 30/01/2020 07:47

Herd not hord. Hmm

IsolaPribby · 30/01/2020 07:49

i didnt realise i was gonna end up with a hord of middle aged women tryna cyber bully me

Welcome to Mumsnet! This isn't cyberbullying, it's hordes of middle aged women, who have been there, telling you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Many of us have daughters your age.

othervoicesotherrooms · 30/01/2020 07:49

This is what you do OP:

  1. Make an appointment to see the doctor.
  2. ... Sorry, that's all I've got.
shortytrekker · 30/01/2020 07:49

Sorry - 18 is an adult not a kid. That is not an excuse. I'll be frank. It sounds like really, you wanted to be pregnant. Now you think it happened and you're panicking.

Talk to a trusted adult for offer advice and support.

I don’t think Mumsnet is the place for you, it’s not a judgement free website , have a look around . But no need to be rude either , you’ve had some good advise . You can use emergency contraception up to 5 days after .
Lesson learned though- use contraception . A condom at least , if you are just going out with this guy for sex . Very risky as first year Uni student . Good luck and all the best

MashedSpud · 30/01/2020 07:51

Lol 🍿

DocusDiplo · 30/01/2020 07:51

I think if people think this is a troll they should just report as it's quite harmful if the OP is genuine.

OP, speak to a friend..if you're pro choice id really consider the implications of a baby on your lifecourse. You don't need this man, he is.messing with your self esteem. Just Gino contact and find another guy, there are plenty. You must be scared Flowers

GaaaaarlicBread · 30/01/2020 07:52

@absoluteclown I’ve just read your last comment to @cuckooken. Totally un called for . You’re so damn rude ! And clearly showing your age with how you’re insulting people . £40 a lot for some pills ? Use a condom, kids cost a lot more .

absoluteclown · 30/01/2020 07:53

i promise to you all this isnt a fake post as i do indeed have better things to do than try and bait people online. i am a genuine person. i do NOT want to be pregnant in any way whatsoever. most of my aunts and cousins had children at 15 or 16 and theyre not living the most glamorous lives to put it frankly. i dont want to be pregnant at all and especially not with this dudes kid. hes not a good guy, ill leave it at that.

I have reported it with exactly the proviso you mention. I bet I'm not the only one who has.

cuckooken · 30/01/2020 07:55

dont see why youre being so rude for no reason?

I wasn't being rude. I was questioning your posts because they are absolutely bizarre. HTH

KidsWorkMastersLife · 30/01/2020 07:55

OP

Figure out when your period is due
Do a test or tests if you are late to find out if you are pregnant.

If you are not pregnant consider it a lucky escape, bin the boyfriend, work on your self esteem to avoid bellends like him in future, and sort out reliable contraception

If you are pregnant seek advice from your GP or clinic about your options

In your place, as a first year uni student, with no cash or possibility of family financial support, with a complete bellend as partner/ father of a potential baby I would seek a medical abortion ASAP (up to 9 weeks) and again chalk it up to experience. Then follow the other steps: bin the boyfriend, work on your self esteem to avoid bellends like him in future, and sort out reliable contraception

absoluteclown · 30/01/2020 07:55

@cuckooken yes i spelt media correctly what is the issue

Wildorchidz · 30/01/2020 07:57

This man has zero say in your choices if you are pregnant.

absoluteclown · 30/01/2020 07:57

@PurpleDaisies yes babies cost a lot however that does not magic £40 into my account im afraid

cuckooken · 30/01/2020 07:58
