Hi, I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and our baby boy is due on 1st July 2020.

I am looking for recommendations of things you swear by.

Which brands etc would you recommend for...

Nappies

Wipes (we will use cotton wool and water at first)

Formula

Thanks 😊

Bambino Mio
Cheeky wipes
Formula is all pretty much the same (anything proven to be beneficial will be a legal requirement in all of them)

Nappies: we used mostly cloth, good old Bambino Mio prefolds, nippa and Motherease Airflow wraps were my favourites. Aldi and Boots disposables were good if I couldn't be bothered!

Wipes: again mostly cloth, just some cheap flannels in a Tupperware box filled with chamomile tea each morning - chucked a pile in a ziplock bag for out and about. Aldi disposable wipes work fine.

Formula: it's all much and such the same unless you have intolerances or a disagreeable belly. We used Cow & Gate when needed. Just get whatever is available in your nearest store :)

It all depends on what suits your baby best.

It all very much depends on the baby. We've used everything from Lidl to Pampers Premium on DD and they're all much of a muchness. You can't beat Lidl for the price, but we tend to get whatever is in offer wherever we're doing our weekly shop. It helps that DD is a very average baby height and weight wise, but if your baby is long, short, has chubby or skinny legs you may have to find one brand and stick to it.

With wipes we use the Boots Biodegradable ones and have done since birth. They're affordable (we buy the boxes of twelve), are alcohol and fragrance free and are 98% water or something. We've never had any issues with them. I might swap to reusables at some stage.

Formula wise I went with HiPP Organic. I saw a few posters here and on a fb mothers' group about babies having issues with Aptamil and there was always advice to switch to HiPP as it seemed to be gentler on tummies. That stuck in my mind when I was deciding what to go for. My HV says it's getting more and more popular but it's still not as readily available as say Cow & Gate or Aptamil. However a PP is right that there's a certain standard all formulas have to meet, so it really is down to personal choice, what's available in your local shops and what your baby prefers. There's a great channel 4 Dispatches episode on formula, marketing, labelling and ingredients which explains this. I found it really interesting, worth a watch on 4oD.
