Sharp belly pain when standing up

Hi,

I am really sorry for the trivial question but I felt really worried not long ago.

I was talking to my manager in her office and as there was no chair for me to sit and she was showing me something on her desk, I leaned on my knees next to her desk and after a few minutes I started feeling quite uncomfortable for sitting on my knees so I stand up more suddenly and then I felt really weird and sharp pain in my belly not far from my belly button and I am sure baby was there as I felt a lump there but the pain was really bad, I had to sit for a couple of minutes for it to go.

Now my whole belly is quite hard but I have no pains or anything anymore, I do have hard belly from time to time and I was told it's nothing to worry about.

I am 32 weeks pregnant and I am worried if I stretched something inside or if I hurt the baby from standing up all of a sudden.

Thank you for reading.

Hi, it could be round ligament pain you've experienced which is normal and to do with all the growing and stretching.

I had this a few times, I always sit on the floor to dry my hair and a couple of times on getting up too quickly it felt like something had snapped sharply inside me so I was floor bound for a few minutes!

Definitely keep an eye on what's normal for you but that's what it sounds like to me

Round ligament? Braxton hicks? Pulled a muscle? I really dont think you should worry about baby, I can't see how standing up quickly would hurt the baby. You could have hurt yourself a little bit, but just take it easy and I'm sure it'll be fine. If you have bleeding or it gets worse, then call midwife/111.
