Hi.
I’m 5 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. Had lots of cramping and stretching for best part of a week. Sunday I had some brown and pinkish discharge with mild cramps. Last night I had quite a lot of fresh red blood only when I wiped nothing has gone on to a pad. I then had a dark clot this morning. Blood has continued throughout the day only when I wipe. Has anyone else experienced this? I have a scan tomorrow and I’m petrified!

Sorry OP unfortunately it wasn't good news for me but I know lots of people who have had the same bleeding and it's just been a clot which has then dissolved by itself and the baby was fine x

I had this with dc1 - weeks 5-9 sudden gushes that would taper off. It turned out to be a subchronionic hematoma which resolved by itself. Each time I went for a scan and all was fine. I had two miscarriages a few years later too but these were more constant heavy bleeding with pain. Resting seemed to help and reduce the bleeding. It is so worrying, I hope you can rest and get a scan soon xx

Thank you.
I’m seeing EPU tomorrow - I can’t help but think the worst! I struggled having DS few years back and needed hormones etc so falling this time was easy.
Such a horrible feeling isn’t it? Just wish someone could tell me exactly what happens during a MC for me to be prepared! X

I had bleeding at week 8. It was bright red blood too. Turns out I have a big fibroid on the uterus and the bleeding was a blood clot. Have been told to expect more blood as they could see another blood clot. Baby was fine

Hi OP,

I had spotting at 5 weeks then a big bleed at 7 and 10 weeks. I had a scan after each time and all showed baby is fine. It’s so so scary but please try to be positive. I convinced myself each time that it would be bad news and was genuinely shocked when all was ok.
I’m 11 weeks now and don’t think I’ll feel truly at ease until I’ve got a baby in my arms.

At 5 weeks there wasn’t much to see other than the sac and a cyst on my ovary. I was booked in for another scan 2 weeks later and just happened to have the bleed a few days before.

I’ll keep everything crossed for you. It’s such a scary time. Flowers

With my last pregnancy I started spotting at 5 + 6 in the morning. I'd had bloods taken a few days earlier which showed HCG level of 9, confirming the pregnancy but by the time I received the result I'd had heavy bleeding and it was too late. So early on it's like a sudden heavy period. I had far heavier bleeding with my first pregnancy at 13 weeks which turned out to be a haematoma that went away and she's now 8. My second pregnancy was a MMC found at the 12 week scan with only spotting. Fingers crossed for you Thanks

How did it go OP? I’ve been thinking about you.

Jemstar1820 · 29/01/2020 14:14

@Sickasadog2020
Just our appointment was at 1.
Couldn’t identify anything on a internal scan. No scan or anything. I’m prob 4-5 weeks as my periods are very irregular. Said it’s still to early to detect or miscarriage like I thought. Took my bloods and will phone me back later today with the results. Said if they are still high I will go back in 48 hours for repeat bloods if not then I take it I’ll just be left??
