Depo Injection

Hi Ladies, having had a miscarriage in January 2018, my husband and I finally feel ready to try again for our second baby. I was on the pill and then had two shots of the depo injection.

My last depo injection was 25 September 2019.

I guess I'm just trying to find out if anyone has been in same position by coming off depo injection and wondered how long it would take normally to conceive?

Many thanks
💗

I'm afraid it took me 2 years to conceive after the depo. It was 14 months before I even started ovulating again.

I started it again for a bit after DC2 (don't want a DC3) but it didn't work as well as I was having some bleeding. Had only 2 shots this time, was due in September but didn't have that one and not had any bleeding since then so that's another 4 months without ovulating post-depo

Sadly it took my friend 13 months to get pregnant after the injection , one of my auntieS 18 months and my other Auntie 2 years . But hopefully it’ll be quicker for you as I know it’s horrible when you’re really ready xx

It took me 14 months just to get a period after the depo injection. A friend of mine conceived after 12 months and another after nearly two years off depo but this may be a long wait to even be in a position to chart ovulation properly.

I should mention I only had one shot of depo and no other form of contraception afterward apart from condoms do nothing else to mess up my cycle.

Thanks for the replies! I'll just have to wait it out and hope for that positive test in the future! Xxx
