I’m 19 weeks and my belly has changed so much over the past few weeks but now it looks more flat than anything. Is this normal

A lot of ‘bump’ in the first few weeks is actually bloating. I was still fitting in all my normal clothes at 20 weeks.

Having said that, if you’re concerned about anything, it’s always best to give your midwife a call. When’s your anomaly scan booked for? It should be in the next week or so?

20 week scan on the 7th of February. It literally can’t come quick enough xx

My bump changed a lot too...some days it was a lot smaller/flatter than others. It might be that baby has moved closer to your back...everything was fine for us...just had a wriggly baby! I hope your mind is eased really soon...it gets so much better when you start to feel baby moving regularly.

Halloweenbabyy · 28/01/2020 17:14

Yah I’ve not felt any baby movements yet I don’t think xx

I didn't properly until 24 weeks but lots of folks say you can start feeling things any time from now. Hope the next 2 weeks are super speedy for you.

I ended up paying £35 a couple of times to go and get a reassurance scan...it was worth the £35 to just put my mind at ease.

@OP it could be me typing this! Exactly the same situation and something I've been thinking about for the last few days - it's literally gone! I actually called the community midwife this morning for reassurance and she said exactly the same as what some of the other posters have said - normal to get more earlier on (bloating) then for it to settle. If it moved position it could just be further back. She advised me not to worry as long as I've not had any cramps / bleeding / anything else. Also have my 20 week scan next Friday - I'll be 20+4 then.

I'm sure we'll be fine :) but I totally get your worry - I'm the same!

I didn't feel baby move till 21 weeks with either of my children but if you are concerned then call your midwife. She could for example check the heartbeat with a Doppler.
