Stomach cramps very early pregnancy

I'm sure I'm worrying about nothing but I just need some reassurance! Im 4 weeks pregnant (1st pregnancy) and for the last few days I've been having stomach cramps on and off throughout the day - they're mild but quite consistent. It feels exactly like my period is about to start (although not quite as painful), and I cant quite shake the feeling that it is going to! I have mild anxiety every time I go the toilet thinking that I'm going to see blood. HCG levels seem to be rising very well with darker test lines every day. I'm guessing this is all normal?

I had cramps from week 4 until about 11 weeks. Was told it was normal unless accompanied by bright red blood. Am now 15 weeks and everything is fine :)

I think I've seen you on previous threads! But I'm 4 weeks too and feel exactly the same. It's making me really worried! I have my first doctors appointment on Friday so will mention it then! It's really hard not to worry isn't it!xx

bluemoon2468 · 28/01/2020 14:27

@LWMB where I live they won't give me a doctors appointment- they just want me to book in with the midwives. If you don't mind sharing, please do let me know what they say about the cramps!

@bluemoon2468 I will of course let you know what he says xx

@LWMB thank you!

And @erised thanks so much, that's reassuring. Did you have any spotting?

Hi guys 💁‍♀️ I had my doc appt this morning. She said she thinks I could be further along than 4 weeks due to my symptoms. Contemplating getting a private scan to see but not sure. She assured me cramps, backache, headache, insomnia, nausea all normal in early days xx

bluemoon2468 · 28/01/2020 15:44

@Treacle81 that's great to know, thanks! Let us know about how far along you are! I am also suffering with insomnia 😔

Thanks for putting up your result from doctors, I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and have been having stomach cramps and woke up this morning to quite painful ones. But no spotting and from what I read online, it seems pretty normal and could even be trapped wind or constipation! So reassuring to read this post! X

badg3r · 28/01/2020 15:52

Yes period like cramps are completely normal early on! Only a concern if very intense and sharp or accompanied by bleeding. Congratulations!

bluemoon2468 · 28/01/2020 20:37

Have just had the tiniest bit of spotting when wiping - I mean so tiny that if I wasn't staring at the tissue looking for it I would never have noticed. Argh I know it's probably all just a normal part of it but it's so nervewracking!

Very normal and common! I had cramps up until around 11 weeks, I literally felt like i was going to come on my period every day.

Hi OP and everyone else Smile

I am 8 weeks pregnant and I had extremely sore cramps at the beginning, which would come and go, which was horrible! I still get cramps, off and on, but was reassured by midwife at my first appointment that this is normal and it's just all of the changes your body is going through. My cramps seem to get worse at night Envy but like everyone else who is still early on, I am trying not to think/worry too much into it.

I am counting down the days to my first scan! Feb 25th Flowers x

@LWMB sorry to jump on and ask, but did you go to the doctors? What did they say? Xx

BMWL · 05/02/2020 15:57

@Daisy2206 unfortunately my pains progressed to bleeding and I had a confirmed ectopicpregnancy and had to have surgery.
Very very bad luck! Feeling very sad x

Daisy2206 · 05/02/2020 16:01

@BMWL Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this :( I shouldn't have asked! I'm sorry xx

BMWL · 05/02/2020 16:08

@Daisy2206 don't worry, you weren't to know x
