I am 30 weeks, but have a history of premature births. I am so uncomfortable tonight, with a constant pain on the top of my bump. DS2 is moving about lots, so not sure if he has gone back upwards. He was very low down for weeks. It hurts to talk, walk and even sitting here, its hurting.

ahh much sympathy were your other children prem

ring your midwife.

tis probably nothing, but best to get it checked out just in case.

Sympathies sparkly. Top of bump doesn't sound like contractions, at least (?). Do you think calling MW or hospital, just for reassurance, might help?

sparklygothkat · 31/08/2007 21:36

my other kids were born at 35, 31 and 33 weeks. I am pretty sure its where he has moved back up, but god it hurts

Agree with Squonk - even if it is for reassurance. IF things are happening the quicker you get there the more likely you will be eligible for the relaxants.

sparklygothkat · 31/08/2007 21:36

its constant too. Its been there all day.

doesn't feel like contractions, I think I will have a bath and go to bed and see what happens in the morning. If its still hurting I go to the hospital

Sparkly - Contractions don't necesasrily feel like contractions at 30wks. God I know I sat there for 8hours in pain being told they weren't contractions.

If you are in any doubt at all (and only you know) call your MW. As I said they can use powerful relaxants if necessary - but only if it is early enough.

sparklygothkat · 31/08/2007 21:46

its a similar pain to what I had a few weeks back when he was under my ribs. Its a constant pain, like a really bad stitch. I just don't think its really it. Have been having BHs and they are normal, but no contractions

I can't use the drugs to stop labour tho. They tried with DD2 and my heartrate rocketed to 130bpm, and they had to stop the drug because I was at risk of heart failure.

There are more than 1 tyoe of drugs. I am guessing you had the beta agonists (or is it beta agonists I can never remember which way round for this). The can use Magnesium chloride (or is it sulphate) which I don't think has the same effect - although admittedly isn't as effective (I don't think).

Or there is the good old alcohol which they used to use before either of those .

Thinking about you - will check up first thing in the morning so you had better post early (or get Misdee/Lisa to post ).

SlightlyMadShockwave · 31/08/2007 21:52

Sorry that wasn't very coherent

sparklygothkat · 31/08/2007 22:03

no idea what drug they used. My stomach is not hard and the pain is like a very bad stitch, just under my ribs, top of bump. Its been there all day. Its easing a bit, now I have been sitting down for a while. I even struggled to read the DDs their bedtime story tonight

the pain has gone now. I think it might have been where I was hunched over my brother's laptop all day trying to get rid of a virus.. sorry!
