39 weeks-- very weird feelings!

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone had experienced this in late pregnancy? It feels like the baby is jabbing my cervix, which is quite a sharp, stabbing pain although doesn't last long. Her movements are really strong. She's normally a bit of a fidgeter but it feels like she's going nuts in there! I've been getting really strong braxton hicks too; they generally don't hurt but can leave me feeling winded and struggling to stand up straight.

May be wishful thinking, but I'm hoping the end is near! I've not felt these things before. Anyone else experienced this?

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and I could have written your post! I've had such strong stabbing pains down below since yesterday. So much so that it hurts to even stand up and it catches me off guard. I've had this feeling on and off since 36 weeks but it's been pretty consistent since last night and all throughout today so I'm hoping this means something...

Good luck to you 😊

Im 32 weeks and feel exactly the same. I described it to my OH as I feel like the baby is excavating my cervix from the inside. Very sharp but very brief pains. It made me visibly flinch today when I was in a meeting at work!

You need to ring maternity triage if you have a change in pattern of movement. This applies to increased movement too.

Also agree with the post above re increased movements. I went in once because of an increase in movements and was told that the same advice now goes for increased movements as it does for decreased as it could mean that the baby is in distress. It may not be anything to worry about (could be something that you have eaten or had to drink!) but either way they told me that I had done the right thing by phoning in 😊

Thanks everyone 🙂 the midwife has said it sounds like the baby has dropped further into my pelvis and so I'm feeling movements in different places. My ribs aren't in her way anymore! Midwife was also happy that increased movement isn't too worrying as there are no other symptoms.

Hoping baby is planning her escape!
