Propess Induction??

I'm due to be induced tomorrow using propess and they're letting me go home afterwards to see how I progress.

I've already lost my mucous plug and was told I was almost 2cm dilated at my last sweep (I'll be 41 weeks on the day of induction). Do you think it's likely that the propess will work for me?!

I had my baby girl Friday, was induced Wednesday with a propess I wasnt dilated at all, thick cervix, mucus plug and it worked for me but every woman is different so would be hard to say xx

I had a propess at 2 cm, 3rd baby and 38 weeks. It started contractions within an hour, I was rather surprised as I was told it was likely to take a while and would be left in for 24 hours.

Both stories really good to hear - thank you!

I had the propess at 5pm. Cervix was closed and far back. Contractions started about 4 hours later and 12pm the next day my baby arrived.

Great to hear these success stories! Keeping positive that it's effective for me! Smile

I had a propess induction with my second at 40 weeks. Was inserted at 5pm. Contractions started within 2 hours. Waters broke 4am. Told me I was just about 4cm dilated at 8am.
Delivered baby girl at 8.40am!

I had a propess. Nothing seemed to happen. Had a prostin 24 hours later and then it was plan sailing nothing more needed

Engard · 27/01/2020 21:54

I was induced with Propess at 39 weeks, not dilated or effaced at all, not about to go into labour naturally anytime soon. They put it in around 3pm, contractions started 10 minutes later. Within an hour they were 2 min apart, at 6pm I was only 2cm but still having frequent contractions so they decided to take it out (hyperstimulation caused by the propess - no one told me about the chances of this happening, apparently fairly low but worth being aware of). Contractions then slowed to every 3 minutes and ‘proper’ labour started. 7cm by 10pm and fully dilated by midnight, baby born at 1am - 10 hours after Propess. It was very intense but overall fine as it didn’t last too long, g&a and natural birth, no tears. Way better than I expected. Good luck tomorrow!

How did it go OP? Any sign of bubs??

HollyT89 · 31/01/2020 21:47

Our baby boy was born on 29th January at 7.39pm Smile The propess was extremely effective!! So much so that I had to have it removed after 11 hours as I was contracting back to back!

Thoroughly enjoying the newborn bubble with our little sleep thief Smile

Xx
