Iodine

I just wonder if anyone knows if doctors routinely check that you are getting enough iodine in pregnancy? At the moment I'm struggling with anxiety due to extra hormones I have to take, and this worry just cropped up... I'm vegetarian with a dairy intolerance. My vitamins have 33percent of RDA for iodine, and I eat eggs and goats cheese, lots of veg including potatoes.
My doc said my bloods were perfect but not sure if iodine is on the prenatal list... Any reassurance welcome

Really? I am so afraid of the risk of mental retardation @balletpanda. My anxiety brings up a new worry every day and that's probably my big problem at the moment x

Are you getting help with your anxiety?

Maggie272 · 26/01/2020 11:49

I am, thank you @Selfsettling3. But there are days I want to end my pregnancy. It's awful, because this is an IVF pregnancy and we wanted it so much. I'm terrified I'm harming the baby...

Is your anxiety new or was it pre existing? Happiness in pregnancy is a big lie sold to us by the media.

Cow’s milk has a lot of iodine in but if you can’t have that then Asda’s own oat milk is forfeited with iodine as are some other mills.
