If you’re 6 days late you don’t need FMU to test with.

I tested 6 days early with midday Irvine and got a bfp.

If you've already missed your period then it should show up whatever time of the day you do a test. The day I found out i did a few tests through out the day and days after to take it in lol Good luck xx

Stacey451 · 26/01/2020 11:40

Tested with clearblue plus was negative going to book a doctors appointment tomorrow.

Could i be pregnant?

The doctor won’t do anything. It’s normal to miss the odd period. A few months ago I was 8 days late, it was just hormones.

Stacey451 · 26/01/2020 12:21

I could ask if they could do a blood test?

OP posts:
MrsSokhi · 26/01/2020 12:49

If a clear blue has come back negative it's unlikely your pregnant so a doctor wouldn't do a blood test. Plus they do it differently now you just self refer yourself to the midwifes now after you've got your positive. I know it's disheartening but there's always next month xx

peachypetite · 26/01/2020 12:52

Please don’t waste a doctor’s appointment because your period is a bit late. As others have said it can be normal, as you’ve said you have had cramps it’s probably on its way.

Stacey451 · 26/01/2020 13:14

I don't personally find it a waste of time.
People on occasion have got negatives on a test but positive on a blood test.
Ive been told clearblue isn't that good because it requires higher hcg.
From somebody whose experienced a miscarriage it would reassure me.

My periods have never been late even when i had my miscarriage my periods have been normal after

MrsRose2018 · 26/01/2020 13:15

Hi
I don’t want to give you false hopes however I am 15 weeks pregnant and I took THREE clear blues and they were ALL gals negatives!

The first two got the control line but no pregnant line and the third was a dud so I went and got a digital and got my positive!

Again, like the others have said it may well just be a late period but just wanted to share my experience of when pregnancy tests were VERY wrong!

Xx

MrsRose2018 · 26/01/2020 13:16

False*

Stacey451 · 26/01/2020 13:17

I feel personally attacked not going to doctors because of a flu am trying to see whats underlying the delay of my period.

A 6 day late period is not a medical issue that you need to see a GP about.

It is perfectly normal, you may or may not be pregnant. Just wait a week and test again.

MrsRose2018 · 26/01/2020 13:20

I had a miscarriage in July so I actually went and got my bloods (they’re called HCG levels if you’re not in the know) done privately after I got my positive pregnancy test!

I don’t know where you are based but mine were at Pall Mall Medical! If you google “private HCG test in X” a place will come up!

Even if this isn’t a pregnancy I would get checked out! My periods are like clockwork so if I was 6 days late I would be worried something was wrong! You know your body!

Xx

Stacey451 · 26/01/2020 13:20

My cramping has stopped.
I could stomach drinks of teas now i can't drink it because it tastes different weird.
Even when my period comes 100% always correct on when i know its starts before i start.

Stacey451 · 26/01/2020 13:21

Thanks mrsrose i will check that out now

OP posts:
MrsRose2018 · 26/01/2020 13:21

Also to add, it is literally probably nothing but if you’re concerned there is no harm in going to the doctors x

Stacey451 · 26/01/2020 13:25

Mrsrose thank you
Only time ive gone to doctors was for my sons vaccinations.
So its horrible feeling like am being attacked.
I know it could be nothing but its always good to check if am not hopefully they can find out why am not on my period.

OP posts:
peachypetite · 26/01/2020 13:28

Nobody is attacking you. We are just saying that GPs are so stretched it would be worth waiting another week. If you are stressed about TTC it could easily be why it’s late.

MrsAgassi · 26/01/2020 13:33

Why don’t you get a different brand of rest? First response or another pink dye test.

Clear blue digital tests are less sensitive but even they should show positive by now.

I don’t think you are being attacked, but one period being late is not really something you need to see a doctor for. If you miss your next one and still haven’t had a positive test then it would be worth going and asking for bloods to be done.

MrsH497 · 26/01/2020 13:44

Last year I had what I would describe as an odd cycle late then light. Had a telephone consultation as I didn't feel the need to see the gp. She said an odd month is not unusual if it continued to make an appointment and they would check it out but as standard they don't offer anything for 1 late/missing/light period
Maybe ask for a telephone consultation instead

Sparrowlegs248 · 26/01/2020 13:57

My GP wouldn't give me an appointment for a late period. Maybe try again with a different brand of test? Good luck.

Dipsy77 · 27/01/2020 11:57

I would try a different brand of test I took a few different tests and the worst result was the same clear blue as you. Asda's own are £1 and are very good plus the clear blue digital is also good to confirm weeks once you get the positive, I'm currently 6 weeks and the asda rest picked it up and 3.5 weeks Smile
