As the title says I'm 36 weeks pregnant and this morning after intercourse I had bright red fresh blood.

I rang the hospital and went in to be checked over. The bleeding has stopped and the heart trace was fine so they sent me home. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced bleeding late in pregnancy and how it turnt out for them? I know they've said everything is fine but I still cant help but worry.

I'm so anxious this pregnancy they also referred me for a well being service because I've told them that.

I guess it's normal. I would obviously keep an eye on it, if I was to bleed again I wouldn't hesitate going in a again. If you had intercourse they can't test you for the swab to see if you're in labour or likely to be soon in labour for about 48 hrs( that's because of the sperm, it happened once to me).

Hopefully will be all good and nothing more will happen.

I had a bleed around 32 weeks. Bright red and absolutely terrifying. It was just put down to one of those things. I'm 37 weeks now and everything seemed ok at my last check up (ended up with another trace due to baby's high heartbeat). The advice I was given was to go straight back in if it happens again rather than ring and they'll look at whether they need to scan/investigate further. Hope all goes well.

I had light, but bright red, bleeds at 30 weeks, 33 weeks (I think?) and 38 weeks. Went in to be monitored each time, they would do a heart trace which was always fine and then try and check my cervix to see if it was coming from there or the placenta. My cervix was in an awkward position throughout pregnancy so the exams took some time but they said it was more than likely coming from the cervix, and was just because the cervix has more blood flowing to it in pregnancy- so in the same way you can get nosebleeds in pregnancy, your cervix can just bleed apparently.

At the 38 week one they offered to induce me there and then if I wanted, as I'd been in three times and they couldn't see my cervix well that time. I said no but ended up going into labour spontaneously a few days later anyway, so do wonder if that last one might have been a bloody show. It was slightly heavier than the others.

He's currently asleep on my chest after feeding and I'm trying to work out a clever way to transfer him to his cot Smile
