Just a quick question, have any of you requested a section?
If so, and you don't mind sharing, what were your reasons for it and how did the hospital respond?
Thanks a lot 😊

Oh and it's not cheeky, and certainly not the 'easy route', it's major surgery! If you want it, be forthright and say that's what you want. Good luck 😊

Thank you all again, I haven't met with any consultants yet (consultant led care due to BMI) but I'm not sure who I should ask or when I should ask? Will I have an easier or harder time getting my request approved because of my incredibly high BMI?
I think about this almost all the time, it is ridiculous! But I can't control the anxiety, the anxiety or labour mostly but the fear of even asking for a section is stressing me out. Do you have any tips on who and when I should ask? And any tips on how to not be such a scaredy cat would be great too lol

You can ask your midwife to request a consultant appointment or you can call your hospital directly and ask them. There is no set time when to ask.
I know it's not easy to ask for it. You need to do some research about csection and understand the risks. Once you know all the risks you will have full confidante to ask for it.

I’ve requested (and been granted) one due to a traumatic first labour that’s severely damaged my pelvic floor. Another VB risks permanent life long damage so I wasn’t up for risking that!
