Hey I know it's very early days (5+2 weeks). Already thinking ahead. I think when i give my 6 year old boy the news he will be positive he has said a few times he would like a bro or sis.

Anyone have any experience in 1. This type of age gap and 2. Keeping a high energy boy happy and entertained whilst also dealing with a baby. My son doesn't stop talking and loves to entertain lol.

I have some concerns my son will be a bit anxious as he is already in a 50/50 care arrangement between me and his dad. My own anxiety is in terms of in case he gets upset or jealous the baby will be with me and my bf who we live with, maybe feeling he's missing out on the days he is with his dad. Again anyone with experience of appreciate your insights!

I've already got some ideas of making sure to have mummy son days or hours, just the two of us.

Many thanks guys x

I have an 8 week old DD and a 6 year old DS, hes bouncing of the walls, talks non stop and is 100 miles an hour. Hes not that bothered by her, uses holding her as a way to delay going to bed usually🙄. It was made harder by her being prem and then major surgery at a week old so we didnt see him for 2 weeks. Him being at school makes it easier but i wont lie, the school run can be hell. Im almost leaving my usual times most days now but the odd day where she wants feeding 20 mins before i have to leave can slow things down and i suck at getting up but i did before aswell🙈 its not too bad though, DS is pretty good at entertaining himself but has played up a bit more since she came home. I do feel like im not spending enough time with him though sometimes but its going to be a change from when it was just him i guess
