Hi,

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and today while on the sofa my 7 month Alsatian puppy jumped and her paw went into my stomach. Should I be worried?

Thanks

No, not at all. At 7 weeks the baby is entirely contained within and protected by your pelvis. Even if you'd been 37 weeks a puppy wouldn't have done any damage. Babies are well protected in there. Most women full-term with their second have a toddler using them as a trampoline all the time.

A healthy pregnancy is extremely robust and can generally only be affected by powerful drugs.

nothing to worry about whatsoever. Baby is so tiny at that stage that it would have no impact at all, and even much later on babies are surpisingly well protected by your stomach

No, you're fine! My fully grown Labrador jumped on my stomach (I was lying in bed and he jumped up on me!) the day of my 12 week scan. I was so worried but obviously having the scan that day helped! There was no issues at all.

My 42kg dog occasionally comes over for a cuddle now and plinks himself down on my stomach he did it last night I'm 32 weeks and have been fine they're well protected but does make you worry. He doesn't mean to be so heavy on me he doesn't realise his size

Plonks not plinks

As pp said, at 7 weeks baby is still way small and under pubic bones. At 12 weeks your uterus reaches your pubic bone and still no harm can be done of a dog jumping on your belly. :)
