30 weeks...Braxton hicks?

I'm just over 30 weeks and today I've been having weird like period like pains that come and go. Is this Braxton hicks? First baby so no idea what to expect. I had a scan and monitoring the last couple days due to reduced movement but baby is very active again yesterday and today.
Any advice much appreciated.

I'm 30 weeks and have been having Braxton hicks, the feel more like you stomach getting really tight. But they could be

You should call just to get checked to be sure. I had my baby at 28 weeks following a couple of days of light period pains. They'd rather see you and send you away reassured I'm sure.

I had braxton hicks for several weeks before birth in both pregnancies (cant recall exactly how early) and they were both a few days overdue in the end. All the info seemed to say that braxton hicks weren't painful but they often were slightly painful for me, and also were often regular and fairly close together which could be alarming at times.

Having said that, I'd still call your midwife or the unit as its better to be safe than sorry at 30 weeks.

Thank you. I have contacted my midwife and waiting for them to call me back to see what they advise.

@abbs1Could you share what the advice from your midwife was? I am 30+5 and have been having mild period pains for some time too (only once or twice a day). So I'd be interested to know if this is normal.

@Bookworm83 the midwife said it sounds like braxton hicks and said to keep an eye on it. She said if they get consistent or really painful to call the labour ward to be assessed in case its early labour.
So far it's been fine. I had some more last night but none today so it seems to come and go so I'm thinking for now luckily it's just Braxton hicks. Baby has been very active too and my bump is still quite small so could be round ligament pain as well.
