I'm early pregnant and all I can stomach right now is bread, pizza, paninis and more bread! I already have weight to loose and I everything I should be eating like salads/fish/vegetables is just making me feel so sick. I feel helpless like I'm going to get even more fat and it's a horrible feeling!

That was like me in the first 12 weeks. If I didn’t eat I felt sick and it had to be carbs. I ate so much bread and my main meal choice was jacket potato with cheese and beans. I asked my midwife as I was worried and she said it’s completely normal. I’m also a bit overweight and could have done with losing some before pregnancy - couldn’t believe how hungry I was though. I was waking up at 4.00am needing a snack! I would just go with it and try not to worry. I’m 17 weeks now and things have settled down. I’m eating much better and actually want vegetables again. Also completely gone off kfc which I had strong cravings for in the first few months!

@PixieN ahhh that's reassuring to hear! I'm hoping when the aversions and nausea dies down a little I will eat healthily. Right now I feel terrible because my diets terrible, can't wait for that bit to pass ☺️

This was me too! I could only eat beige salty carbs for ages during my pregnancy. Then I developed a biscuit addiction too 😬
I’ve now got a healthy 6 week old baby girl, and I am lighter now than when I got pregnant 😁

Joker123 · 24/01/2020 16:46

11 weeks and I’m exactly the same. I’ve gone up a dress size and it’s making me panic about the rest of my pregnancy.
Can’t wait to get back to my usual diet. 😭

BabyOne90 · 24/01/2020 17:05

Is pizza ok to have because of the cheese on top?? Just wana check ☺️

BabyB19 · 25/01/2020 16:00

I'm 9+4 and exactly the same thank god im not alone I feel so guilty as I thought I was going to do everything as healthily as possible but instead I'm living on sandwiches and things on toast and crisps! I also have weight to lose and am already struggling to hide the belly!

Joker123 · 25/01/2020 17:19

@BabyOne90
Yes it’s fine it will just be mozzarella or cheddar- depending on where you get it from.

PrincessSarene · 25/01/2020 22:43

Any cheese is fine when it’s cooked. Enjoy the pizza 😊

Hayley94 · 26/01/2020 00:06

I'm a size 16 so overweight too. I had HG early on and ended up hospitalised with it. Doctor actually recommended carb strong diet to ensure some food was going in. Don't worry xx

TG2019 · 26/01/2020 07:12

Hey gals I’m totally the same. I’m a fitness professional and usually really balanced and healthy with my diet.
Currently even the sight of vegetables is making me so sick and the only thing that isn’t purely beige that I can eat is pizza
We are not alone 🤣

TG2019 · 26/01/2020 07:14

You know when people get suspicious because you aren’t drinking everyone around me is suspicious because I can’t sit next to someone who has broccoli 🤣🤣🤣

whatswithtodaytoday · 26/01/2020 07:20

Totally normal. All I could eat for weeks was salty carbs, then I craved meat and fish for a while (normally mostly veggie so that was weird), and things settled down by the third trimester but I always felt odd about anything green. Throughout I wasn't interested in sugary things at all, my sweet tooth only came back as soon as I'd had him.

Just get through it, pregnancy is hard!

1Pinkfluffyelephant · 26/01/2020 09:21

I had weeks at the start when all I could eat was carbs/beige food. Chips, potato waffles, crisps, chicken nuggets. With my first the only thing I could eat was big Mac’s for a few weeks despite never having eaten one before pregnancy. Now I’m craving fruit and veg. Honestly don’t worry it will balance it’s self out once your feeling better.

maria2bela · 26/01/2020 09:49

Ahh so nice to see I'm not being a fatty on my own haha! I seem to be craving carbs and some sweet things too at the moment, double whammy! I will try and start slimming world or something with nausea dies down, just to try and keep weight under control!

Definitely not alone, I am with you with the carbs + sweet stuff too so I have now discovered a new found love for jam and cream scones, two birds one stone 😭🤣🐷

BabyB19 · 26/01/2020 10:04

@maria2bela

Joker123 · 26/01/2020 12:29

@BabyB19 great, now I want jam and cream scones. 😂

BabyB19 · 26/01/2020 14:11

Sorry @Joker123 but if I'm going to end up like a tank I'm taking you all down with me 🤣🤣🤣

sel2223 · 26/01/2020 14:17

As a previous poster said, all I seem to he eating are 'beige salty carbs'. It's the only thing I want and/or can actually stomach with the nausea.... bread/toast, chips, crisps, crackers, jacket potatoes, pasta, pizza, pasties.... that's basically my duet now.
Every now and then I manage a piece of fruit as well but I'm nowhere near my 5 a day. I'm taking supplements though so hopefully the baby will still get what it needs
I'm 11 weeks and I'm struggling to fasten any of my trousers so I'm starting to panic a bit about how much weight I'm gaining! I'm already overweight.

Joker123 · 26/01/2020 16:24

@BabyB19 🤣🤣🤣

maria2bela · 26/01/2020 20:23

@sel2223 same! Can already feel my waist expanding Confused
