Image of genitals at 20 week scan. Please someone help!

So we had our 20 week scan yesterday and we didn't want to know the gender so she didn't check but we saw all of the tail bone, legs etc and didn't spot anything and she gave us our pictures at the end and in one of the pictures you can see the baby's genitals very clearly. I am now racking my brains as to what it is showing as to me I can clearly see 2 circles which they say is a girl but it also looks like it hanging down in between the legs which is how I would imagine a boy to look. Please help if anyone is familiar with boy girl scans.

My boys scan didn't look like that so I would say it's a girl ♥️
But I'm not an expert !

I would agree on a girl. My boy's scans at that point were incredibly obviously they were a boy...

It isn’t possible to say from this image. No sonographer would say because the section doesn’t show the genitals clearly. If pushed I’d say boy but your sonographer gave you this image knowing you didn’t want to know the sex so she didn’t pick an image that showed it. If you want a bunch of people to guess then fine.

You say you didn't want to know the sex of the baby. In that case, I'd probably stop focussing so intently on the images

Have you changed your mind then and you do want to know?

If you didn't want to know then isn't it a good thing if the scan looks ambiguous???

That looks like a girl to me. My three boys it was very obvious. That isn't so obvious...

I'd say it looks girly but as you said you didn't want to know then it's probably not the best image to judge as I expect the sonographer wouldn't have given you an image where the sex is clear. So don't worry - could still easily be either! Also fwiw I did want to know the sex and was told girl at my 20w scan- had to have another scan a couple of weeks later and was told boy! He is, indeed, a boy! So it's not 100% accurate anyway.

That’s a girl sweetie. Boys tend to have little mounds with a fleshy little willy bit on it. Congrats on your daughter! 💕

That's a girl! I can't remember the exact reason but around that stage, something to do with hormones means that their genitals are quite swollen and pronounced. So that looks like a girl to me, if it was a boy I think the penis (or what would become the penis?) would be a lot larger/more easily identifiable.

Honestly don't do this ! I convinced myself I was having a boy looking at nub theory ( we didn't want to find out either at the scans) Had a little girl, so shocked. A lovely surprise, so don't try guessing.

Honestly you'd have been better just asking the sonographer. She's deliberately given uou an image where you can't easily tell to make sure she respects your wishes and you've now posted it to sixteen million people desperately trying to work out the gender.

Just call them and ask if you wish to know.

It's not actually very clear at all. Hence her giving you the picture. If it was obvious she wouldn't have given you the picture.

Don't guess! That isn't very clear. We were told girl due to 3 lines. A week later it turned out the three 'lines' were squished boy bits.

Don't guess. Either get a sexing scan or wait for a surprise. What you think is clear actually isn't sometimes.

Thank you for your guesses 😊 I didn't want to know but of course a picture like this is going to keep me guessing where it isn't obvious either way but genitals can be seen. It's still a surprise as I have no clue either way 😅 the image had actually been cut off from the others and after one lady had given me the images the sonographer saw this one left on the side and gave it to us hence I thought it was clear to them what the gender was as they weren't going to give it to us.
