i've has a total of 3 reduced movements and even tho he moves fine and heat rate is fine every time (rolls eyes) and i've had a scan and everything was fine, but the pattern and how much he moves is different to what he usually moves. all they have done is booked another scan (which i don't see the point when i had one 2 days ago). Going back in a bit as he's still not moving at his usual rate. am i being stupid?? 🙁

No, you're not being stupid. Go back in if something isn't right.

How far along are you?

You are being stupid at all. If you are worried at all I would definitely go back to the hospital!!! How many weeks are you?

Napqueen1234 · 22/01/2020 20:24

How far along are you? In my trust over 37 weeks if you have two or more episodes of reduced/change in movements they induce. Nearly happened to us- really scary as could feel baby moving but it just wasn’t her normal pattern (39 weeks). Booked for induction the day after but luckily went into labour that night. Don’t worry about bothering them if you’re concerned keep going in for CTG, scans whatever they offer.

What time of scan have they booked for you OP?is it a Doppler scan? This is what you need really as it measures the following ;

‘A Doppler scan measures the blood flow through the umbilical cord and around different parts of your baby's body, such as his brain and heart. This helps to show whether he's getting all the oxygen and nutrients he needs via the placenta. ... It gives a good idea of how your baby's doing.’

I had them quite regularly in pregnancy as I measured v small, they are often given for reduced movements too

GO BACK! at 38 weeks I had reduced movements (3rd episode) he never picked up his usual pattern. They offered induction but I had a c-section booked for 39 weeks so they monitored until then.

Please please don't feel stupid and please do keep going in..
My movements changed, they definitely weren't the same as his normal movements but every time I went in the heart rate was fine. I felt so stupid going in again and again and really believed it was just me being paranoid. The 4th time I went in they noticed the fluid had decreased from last scan a few days earlier although still inside the range of normal. I was induced as I was exactly 37 weeks. I was on constant monitoring throughout induction.. Ds heartrate dropped twice. The second time they got him out sharpish. Turns out the cord was around his neck and he had contracted an infection.. Ds is fine, healthy and happy now but he required iv antibiotics, a blood transfusion and a week in nicu. He had a pneumothorax when he was born also. I genuinely worry about what would have happened if he hadn't been born when he was. So please please keep going back because sometimes your instincts know best.

i am 39+1 and my two have been in the past week and one when i was 36 weeks, they have booked a doppler scan but they just seem to shrug it off because he's still moving

Don't take no for an answer, can you speak to your midwife? Say that you've had several episodes of reduced movements and you believe you should be able to discuss your options.

xJune88 · 22/01/2020 20:49

Please go back. I had 4 episodes, 2 dopplers, numerous traces and was told she was fine. I knew she wasnt was induced, she was born with sepsis (,probs nothing but trust your gut and movements)
