Hi there I didn't know where to post this question. Basically I had my son almost 6 months ago on Saturday. I've decided I cannot go back to work as the price of childcare is sooo expensive! I don't have much family to help watch my baby and it seems as if me and my partner are better off me not working and him working full time. Since applying for UC I realised I'm entilited to the maternity grant. I sent my form off on Monday and I'm hoping it will get to them before Saturday when my son is 6 months and the cut off date. I haven't heard anything back yet, does anyone know how long it takes? I never thought I'd be in this situation having to rely on benefits but if I can get this grant it will help me out a lot. Thanks
