Currently 35+3. Had a routine growth scan today and baby is measuring on the larger side of normal. Estimated weight of 6lb9 already gulp .
Have been booked for a GTT on Thursday to rule out GD (I have no other symptoms so midwives are just being cautious)
Providing everything is fine with GTT, I’m thinking I probably want to get this baby moving sooner than later. Did anyone else start using clary sage, bouncing on their ball, raspberry leaf tea and maybe even sex if DH is lucky Grin from 37 weeks?

I know if baby is just not ready then it won’t make any difference, but there’s no harm in trying , right ?

I tried everything from the day I turned 37 weeks, and I mean everything, and I'm sat here at 40 weeks with a very cosy baby that's showing no signs of exiting. I think those things only work if you're already ready to pop, otherwise nada.

If your baby is measuring big they might suggest an induction at an earlier date?

Not sure why 6lb9 at 35+3 is making you gulp. Mine were all around 9lb full term and they were really not a big deal. Plenty of bigger babies were around me. Your baby is a smidgen bigger than the average at your stage but nothing to panic about.

I wouldn't worry about growth scans. My DS was estimated 8lb3oz at 35 weeks and was 8lb3oz when he was born at 39 weeks. They can be out by 25%. Having said that there's nothing wrong with encouraging labour from 37 weeks but unless baby is ready to come, chances are nothing will work. Hope all goes well!

Growth scans are bollocks. Let your lovely baby stay in as long as he/she can!
