Has anyone got any cures for 1st trimester insomnia? It is driving me crazy!
I go to bed at 9 pm, up at 10 pm for a pee, then again about 11.30. I normally manage to then sleep until 2 am but after getting up to pee I cannot get back to sleep again!
This has happened since a day before I took a pregnancy test at 4 weeks.
Any ideas on how to stop this?

No advice but I'm experiencing the same. I generally can fall asleep easily but wake up about 2 am. Some days I'm lucky and manage to get back to sleep at about 5 but some days I don't. Finding it very hard to function at work when I've been awake since 2am! I'm 11 weeks today so really hoping it'll improve soon, maybe after the 12 week scan as I'm quite anxious.

Thanks for the message it's nice to know I'm not the only one with this problem. Yeah good point about 12 week scan. Not long to go!

I'm awake too OP.

A combination of blocked nose/tricky breathing, boob agony and insomnia.

I'm not even six weeks pregnant yet 😩

This happened in my previous pregnancies too. I used to wake up at 4am every day. I really hope I don't have 8 months of this!!

I'm hoping a pregnancy pillow might help?

Olivestone · 21/01/2020 04:54

Blimey! I do not want this for 8 more months.

Sorry no advice but still have this at 29 weeks, I’ve resigned myself to it now 😩

Bookiewook · 21/01/2020 07:15

Mine went away at about 12 weeks so fingers crossed for you!

Bookiewook · 21/01/2020 07:16

And like you it was caused by not getting back after a pee. The ridiculously sensitive bladder improved for me...

Meditation
White noise such as rain sounds can find long clips on YouTube or download them.

Thanks ladies for all your reply's.

Starlightmagic - Gosh sorry to hear you still have it at 29 weeks!

Bookiewook - I am hoping like you the 12 week mark will elevate my bladder and solve my sleep issue, like you say fingers crossed!

Cherryrainbow - I had our dehumidifier on in the bedroom over night the other day and I thought I slept better...it has a hum to it so I will try the white noise thing, Cheers!

Mine started about week 7, briefly improved at roughly weeks 28-31 before third trimester aches and peeing frequency brought it right back again. Currently 36+4 and was awake from 2-6 am last night - I'm looking on it as training for the newborn stage HmmGrin

LatteLover12 · 22/01/2020 01:32

Awake again after a couple of hours sleep. I think I'll go mad if I have to do months of this.

Googling pregnancy pillows, maybe that will help.
