Weight gain second trimester

I’m a bit concerned about my current weight. I’m 18+3 and have only put on 4lbs. The 4lbs were put on during the first trimester but I don’t seem to be putting on any more weight. My BMI was 22 when I was first weighed at 8 weeks. I’m not normally one to struggle to put on weight. In my scans and midwife appointments no one has seemed concerned though and the midwife said she didn’t need to weigh me again after the booking appointment.

I’m eating normally and occasionally get those moods where I can’t seem to satisfy my hunger but these moods are occasional rather than the norm. Should I be worried or is this normal for early second trimester?

I think thats normal.

I didnt gain any weight really until gone 20 weeks. Now 26 weeks and have gained 8kg/17lbs. BMI was just under 19 at the start.

www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html

This is quite a good calculator as you go on, where you can plot your height, weight and gestation and it gives a rough gain. so you can see if average or majority over/under

Thanks both. Seems I’m just 0.5kg under so hopefully I’ll catch up soon and will keep an eye to make sure I don’t get too far behind.

I lost weight initially! Think I only really started gaining after 20 weeks.

It's quite normal not to gain much yet. I gained 5 pounds by 20 weeks. I'm now 32 weeks and have gained 17-18 pounds

Don't worry. I'm at the end of my pregnancy and have only gained 14lb midwife didn't bat an eyelid
