Newborn size or 0-3?

I'm expecting a baby girl end of May and just starting to buy bits and pieces for her wardrobe Smile

As it was ages ago since I had my first two, I can't remember what I did re sizing.

Do I buy Newborn or 0-1/0-3 size?

My other two boys (now 9 and 12) were both overdue. Eldest was 14 days late and 7lbs 14oz and youngest 10 days late and 7lbs 10oz. However, they were both with first husband who was quite short. My fiancé is 6ft so much taller.

She's currently on smaller side of normal range (had 20 week scan last week) but sonographer did say that doesn't necessarily equate to a smaller baby.

Just to say this thread has been super helpful to me. Im 31 weeks and had bought all 0-3 months stuff, but going from this thread it seems babies dont into that for a few weeks (unless you have a big baby).

Ive bought a couple of up to one month size babygrows now, so im ready for whatever size the baby is (unless he's a real stonker, or tiny)!

Thanks all!

Thanks too everyone! I'm going to buy a few newborn bits (they've got some amazing second hand bundles on ebay) and then some 0-1 and 0-3 (this size I'll probably spend more on as it will definitely fit her).

If I remember correctly (although my youngest is now 9), both boys were in newborn for a short while. I'll also been selling on when she's outgrown as very unlikely I'll be having a fourth!!! Smile

Mine were 9lb and 8lb9 so newborn was never an option! 0-3 and they only lasted about 6 weeks!

Sometimes it depends on where you get it from. My one month old who was born 8ibs (need to find out tomorrow weight) still fits into some newborn clothes but not for much longer.

I put her in 0-3 too and an easier fit. Some of them are still baggy on her (the posher ones usually) and some if be surprised if they lasted to 3 months.

I have way too many newborn 0- 1. I wish I'd got more 0-3 now. Good to have a few i think in smaller sizes but I'd get more in 0-3. They'll grow into them. Just roll the sleeves up of you need to.
