Hi guys :)

I'm new here. I was just wondering if anyone can help me. I've found out this weekend I am pregnant and my clear blue test said 3+. I know you are supposed to date your pregnancy from the first day of your last period Dec. 3rd. However, I had a scan on Dec. 19th as I miscarried early last year and have been having tests done since. The sonographer saw no pregnancy (not that we were looking for one as didn't know I was pregnant) but she said she saw that I had ovulated. I suppose what I'm asking is does anyone know how many weeks I am roughly and is it normal that she wouldn't have noticed anything at the scan?

Thank you in advance for any responses, i really appreciate it x

Yes it's perfectly normal as it would of been to early when I was 4 weeks they could only tell I too had ovulated but didnt see a pregnancy until I was 6 weeks so that is probably why they didnt see anything xx

The only thing that would be visible on a scan at the time you had it would be confirmation of ovulation. At that point, the fertilised egg was most likely still on its way down your fallopian tube and hadn't even implanted yet, not to mention it would have been teeny!

Congratulations, and I hope you have a smooth and straightforward pregnancy.

@KHall84 thank you for replying, you've put my mind to rest lol. So if I'm dating from the first day of my last period (Dec. 3rd) that would make me six weeks pregnant? sorry to ask so many questions lol xx

@Persipan Thank you for getting back to me- so if I'm going from the first day of my last period (Dec. 3rd) that would make me roughly six weeks? Sorry for the question overload lol x

Hi
Congratulations. Yes that sounds correct, the NHS website has a calculator to calculate your due date and how far along you are x

@JessH97 yes you would date from last period and then when you do have a scan they will give you a better idea of actual date if that makes sense xx massive congratulations xx
