Thought I'd post this to help anyone deciding wether to have an early scan and what to expect.
My dates were spot on as predicted at 8wks1day, although an abdominal scan revealed nothing and I had to have a transvaginal scan. Turns out I have a retro reverted uterus meaning it's more towards my back than my belly. The transvaginal scan I found uncomfortable as she had to push quite hard to the right to get a good image.
Yolk sac and heartbeat clearly visible on the big screen they have in front of you. And a lovely big scan picture to take home.
All in all it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of having one. It's a bit of reassurance if you're a worrier like me.
