Hi I'm currently 6+4 weeks pregnant and honestly exhausted, finding it a struggle to get out of the house other than going to work, is this normal to feel this tired? As soon as I get home from work in the week I lie down as I have no energy to do anything else and on the weekends when I am off work I feel like all's I want to do is just nap or lie down.. HELP is this normal is anybody else the same?!

Yes absolutely! For me I've been tired all of the way through, but it was definitely worst for the first 14 weeks (in 28 weeks now and it's starting again!)

mdh2020 · 19/01/2020 11:44

Yes. I was very tired in the first trimester. It seems odd, but it happens

littleyikes · 19/01/2020 11:46

Yes, I was in bed by 8.30pm for most of the first trimester. Eased off for the second.

4amWitchingHour · 19/01/2020 11:47

Yep, totally normal. I'm now 14 weeks and finally feeling like I'm getting energy back. Although I have stayed in my dressing gown all weekend so far...

Thank you all for your comments, this has made me feel a lot better knowing it's not just me 😂 x

Yep, normal. I went to sleep on Friday night at 8pm, woke up at 8am and managed an hour nap yesterday at 1pm 😂.

Hannah1990x · 19/01/2020 13:12

Yes I remember walking round feeling like I'd taken a sleeping pill, it was a horrible drugged kind of tired. I used to get home from work and go to bed at 7 and also napped in the afternoons on weekends (most of the time DH came too for a cuddle!)

It eased for me around the second trimester :)

BelfastNonBlonde · 19/01/2020 13:14

Totally

I’m still knackered at 23 weeks but it’s a different tired due to not sleeping well.

First trimester I was just dog tired and shattered!

Cmagic7 · 19/01/2020 13:15

Yup. I remember waking up at 8 in the morning and needing a nap at around 9.30! But, and it may just be me here, come the 11th or 12th week, I was absolutely full of energy.

emilyx123 · 19/01/2020 13:15

@Chanel05 that sounds exactly like my life at the moment🤣

Yep I could easily sleep 16 hours a day between weeks 7-10! Still very tired now (13 weeks), but not quite the same drugged feeling and am in fact about to go for a nap, but hopefully be back to normal soon!

BikeRunSki · 19/01/2020 13:16

Totally!

Chichz · 19/01/2020 18:00

Ditto, and super emotional! Sad I'm around 8-9 weeks.

People have told me that the second trimester is the sweet spot! x

RyvitaBrevis · 19/01/2020 19:04

The most common pregnancy symptom in the first trimester is extreme tiredness. You are not alone! Hang in there!

I'm getting more energy back now that I'm in the second trimester. I wouldn't say I'm full of energy but much less tired Smile x

Poorlyandfedupmum64 · 19/01/2020 19:21

Absolutely. Until 12 weeks I was exhausted by tea time! I just wanted to sleep all day. Itl pass. You do great going to work like it.

zoelouwalk · 19/01/2020 19:22

I'm 6 weeks 4 and exactly the same x

Jojo19834 · 19/01/2020 19:26

Yep! I am nearly 12 weeks and I never felt tiredness like it over Christmas. About 9 weeks got better but I’m still getting 8-9 hours a night and sleeping in day at weekend. Very normal.

emilyx123 · 19/01/2020 20:49

Thanks for all the reassurance.. feel a lot better knowing it's totally normal!😂 roll on 6 weeks when I'll be in the second trimester 🙌🏼😂

Totally normally. My energy level is lower than ever. My midwife suggested exercising to boost energy and I felt like laughing in her face. I can barely get the energy to go to the toilet in the night let alone go for a run. Bring on second trimester!!!

You're growing a whole new organ, which has a sole purpose to feed your baby.
It's truly exhausting but for me got better quite quickly.
