Hi out there, Just joined in search of any other beautiful ladies who are in the same crazy journey im beginning, I just found out this morning after 4 years of trying two devastating miscarriages and all of a broken heart having given up trying that i had a positive pregnancy test and at the moment I am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Absolute shock I cant believe it, im in this little bubble of complete joy. So much ahead that we are not even thinking about we are just wrapped up in us 3 for the minute. Is anyone else out there in a similar situation?

I'm 41 and will be 42 at delivery. We have a 2 year old and since had 2 early losses. Currently at 18 weeks with everything crossed!

tacosplease · 19/01/2020 18:06

I’m a few years younger but am also pregnant with my first... and just wanted to say huge congratulations to you! Flowers

Pamiepam · 20/01/2020 17:59

thank you so much ladies. How are yous doing with the pregnancy? I have been prescribed clexane, asprin, floic acid, vitiman D and cyclogest. Im terrified of starting the injections. Wondering if anyone had any experience or advice on taking the meds. It feels like a lot to take from a few days ago when I didnt take any medication at all. I would do anything for a healthy baby so in the grand scheme of things its not the end of the world just very daunting when you have never done it before.

Our youngest was born a month before my 42nd birthday, nearly 9 years after her older sibling. I get how shocked you are. DH face was a picture when I told him.

She's been exhausting bless her, but well worth the journey. Congratulations.

I was told to start the aspring from week 11, but never had to do injections.

memberofseven · 21/01/2020 11:06

I'm also 42, also unplanned baby number 5. I had the scan yesterday. I'm 15 weeks so due mid July. Now I'm over the shock I'm pretty happy.

memberofseven · 21/01/2020 11:07

doubleshotespresso · 21/01/2020 11:15

Congratulations x x x

anotherypasswordtoremember · 21/01/2020 11:17

Hi love, congratulations! I've got experience with the clexane if that's useful?
It is painful for maybe the first week, so don't panic. The discomfort fades in about ten minutes though. Take it slow when you do it and make sure you push firmly at the end to get the plastic cover to come over the needle. It'll help pull the needle out.

Iwanttobeinthesunshine · 21/01/2020 17:38

Congratulations!! I hope everything goes well for you.

mywrencalls · 21/01/2020 18:12

I'm 37 and 13 weeks pregnant, I am so excited too! My first child is 20 years old so I feel like a first time mum all over again.

Finding out the sex this week via blood test, I've got a strong feeling that it's a boy.
Either way I'm so happy and trying to enjoy my pregnancy now that I've had a good scan (and no more sickness!)

Wishing you a wonderful pregnancy x

SnoozyLou · 21/01/2020 19:12

@Pamiepam I had to have clexane a couple of years ago after my c section. My partner did it for me as I'm squeamish - not sure I could do it myself - although I suppose I would have had to if he said no! Sometimes I felt very little, sometimes it was a bit painful, not to bad though.

I've been taking 5mg folic and vitamin d in this pregnancy.

clarewithoutani · 21/01/2020 22:58

Congratulations! I'm 43 with an almost 9-year old and am just over ten weeks pregnant. Big surprise but adjusting. Having a challenging day and hoping to get to early pregnancy unit for early scan tomorrow.

SunbeamsOverhead · 21/01/2020 23:15

Aw congratulations OP!! ThanksThanksThanks

Pamiepam · 22/01/2020 18:39

@clarewithoutain I hope you are ok.
@Snoozyloo you poor thing - I had my first one today - im bruised and it really hurt lol its not a necessity its a precaution so i don't know what to do as im on asprin too so that thins the blood. Just cant wait to get back home to my husband and talk to him.
