Hey,

I got a gift card here for Christmas and I'd really like to go before the baby is born. I've read all about eating sushi and being pregnant so this isn't about food. I'm wondering if I'll a) get turned away because I'm pregnant- can they do that? And b) is it the kind of place that a pregnant person would feel comfortable (I realise that's subjective but I guess I mean will people give me mean looks)

Thoughts and previous patrons opinions appreciated! Xx

Ah how funny - we have a gift card for Sushi Samba - was DH’s leaving present from his last job. We actually had it booked in just before we found out I was pregnant...

I’ve looked at the menu and I reckon I could eat there but I want to properly enjoy it (and get Sake!!)

So DH has promised that we can wait until I am ready to leave DC with MIL or DSis for a couple of hours, and we will go have a lovely lunch as our first date after baby is born. We checked and it’s valid for 2 years so fingers crossed that should be ok!

Oh sorry this was more about the sort of place! I haven’t been myself but I know people who have and I don’t think it would be a problem? I’d would be interested to hear thoughts too. Sorry for not reading properly OP Blush

Why don't you look up their menu online??? Surely you could have everything served hot, and it would only be sushimi (raw fish), cerviche and the sushi with cold rice that you couldn't have! A quick look at the menu myself showed far more options you could eat than not.

All sushi and sashimi must be previously frozen under EU law, meaning that you can eat it quite happily.

You won't get turned away. I wouldn't want to go there in the evening pregnant - it's just not that sort of place and I don't think you'd have that much fun. Sure it would be fine for lunch although I've not been at that time. Personally I'd save the voucher for a post-baby treat.

I've been loads and it wouldn't even occur to me that being pregnant would be an issue. I particularly like it for a weekend lunch as the vibe is more chilled. Go. You'll love it

First of all, it should have non fish options if you're not too keen on waiting eating it, there are loads of options including cooked fish (tempura) or vegetable or Japanese omlette a pregnant woman can enjoy, so I can't see why they would turn you away?

I agree that going to Sushi Samba for lunch while pregnant is a good option. The views are amazing. You'll have a great time.
