Empty sac/sacs

(Moved from another forum as I'm new to mumsnet)
Hi ladies, I'm new here and just looking for some advice.
I'm 27 years old with a 4 year old son and 2 year old son. I'm currently between 5-6 weeks pregnant (difficult to tell due to irregular cycles)
I paid for a private scan yesterday to rule out ectopic due to cramping on one side.

During the scan the sonographer found an empty sac, then another potential empty sac (but mentioned that this could be a bleed)

I'm just after some advice really. Has anyone ever seen an empty sac/sacs and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?

My LMP was 05/12/19 so according to online due date calculators I'm around 5+3.

Thank you!

I think this could be normal considering you're only 5 weeks. It's best to get a scan after 6 weeks to check for a heartbeat.

Good luck OP XX

You could be earlier than you thought, if
Your periods are irregular? In this case it would be normal and in a few weeks you would see something. Even if you are 5 weeks like you think, it could still be too early to see anything. I had a scan at exactly 6 weeks and I just about saw the little bean with a heartbeat. At this early stage, even a few days makes all the difference in what you may be able to see on a scan! Fingers crossed X

If it was a private scan I'm guessing it wasn't transvaginal? Call your local EPAU and get an appointment with them (might need to go through your GP with a referral). They can have a proper look for you and let you know what's going on.

Good luck OP x
