Hi Ladies, hoping you all can join soon. The TTC (trying to conceive) after MC (miscarriage) January group have been so supportive I hope we can keep it up for those who have BFP (big fat positive).

@Moominmiss welcome and congratulations on your BFP!! Brilliant news. I was the same as you pretty much. I got my BFP at 9dpo and watched the line get darker. I took a test every day for about two weeks and then started to wean myself off. Ha ha so hard!!

I was also told after my MC last year that I'd be offered an early scan and to call the EPU between 6-8 weeks so I called at 6 weeks and had my first scan at about 7.5 weeks. They also offered me a second scan which I had last week at 9.5 and all good. A week later and I'm feeling a bit better so nervous again and my dating scan isn't until 23rd March!!! Ha ha If I were you I'd call the EPU in a few weeks and say you were told you'd get an early scan etc etc and see what they say. There's a few of us on here had a few early scans and Zoey was offered a third before dating scan.

Fingers crossed this one sticks for you! I've found I get less anxious as the weeks go on but it's always at the back of my mind.

@BecsterG thank you!
It really is so hard not to keep testing. I’ve done another test this morning and will probably do another later on 🙈 thankfully it’s not breaking the bank just yet as I have a ton of cheap tests to use lol.

How does your local EPU work? I know mine you can’t self refer, it has to come from either your go if they suspect ectopic (which is why I had my scan last time, along with bleeding and pain), or the midwife can refer from 8 weeks.

I’m assuming the self referral thing would still stand even after my previous mc? If I make it to 6 or 7 weeks I may call them just to see. No harm in that I suppose!

That’s amazing that you’ve had 2 perfect scans so far, it must have been so reassuring for you to see the progression happening.
Are you going to wait it out until your dating scan later this month now? Or do you have any other scans arranged?

I’m trying so hard to stay positive, but since the mc I just can’t push negative thoughts out of my head. I panic about my age too as I’m 37 so worried that that’s going to always play a part in whether or not I can carry a healthy pregnancy again.

But 🤞🏻 For everyone here!!!! I hope I can update with positive scan results along a few more weeks!

BecsterG · 04/03/2020 11:04

@Moominmiss I'm in Scotland so I know it works differently here. I was told to give EPU a call when I had a scan to confirmed the MC was complete. You could always call when you get to that point or go to your GP for referral as you were told you'd get one.

I have been the same since my MC. I'm trying to just take every week as it comes and I'm also trying to remain positive unless I hear otherwise.

It's so good to see the pregnancy progressing and last week we even saw it's wee hands moving but I'm still a bit anxious about it. I try to push it out my mind.

I think I'll try and wait it out until my dating scan. I have thought about seeing if there has been any cancellations the week before so it's sooner as I'll be 13 weeks by the time I have my scan. I'll see.

I've got another scan a week today. I'm not sure if I'll then have one at 12 weeks again or not as the letter says they can use this one to date the pregnancy. I'd rather wait until 12 weeks but I'm not too bothered. I was under the miscarriage clinic but then got pregnant before my appointment so this is why it's a bit different for me! They do a booking in appointment when I have the scan with a midwife at the hospital where previous loses will be discussed etc. but then I'll transfer care over to the homebirth team and hopefully never ever set foot in that hospital again!

BecsterG · 04/03/2020 12:08

@Zoey36 oh wow do you fancy a home birth? Not an option for me as I'm consultant lead due to surgery on my cervix years ago and the shape of my uterus.

Hello everyone
I'm 6 weeks pregnant got my BFP on what would have been Alvies due date ❤️
Currently feeling knackered and achey and I've caught a cold :( but feeling excited xxxxx

Zoey36 · 04/03/2020 12:45

@BecsterG yeah my first was born at home and I loved it so much! I had booked in with them with the first miscarriage and the midwife was lovely and said I can request her this time too so it will be nice to see her again :)
@AlviesMam hi and congrats! The dates there must have been hard but nice at the same time. Hello to anyone else too that I haven't said hello to!

FireflyGirl · 04/03/2020 13:00

I kept poas until even the less sensitive ones were as dark as the control line. So, definitely not a CP.

@BecsterG I called my GP, and they couldn't find any reference to it in the letters from the hospital (despite the 3 or 4 different sonographers who scanned me all saying it). So, they gave me an appointment for 2 weeks' time.

I called the epau directly, to see if they had any other records, and mentioned I am pregnant again. They're concerned about ectopic because of where the cyst is, but it's too early to see anything yet, so I have to go in tomorrow for blood tests 🤷 Thinking of how to explain that to work...

AlviesMam · 04/03/2020 13:05

What's everyone's symptoms like?

Mine aren't strong but come the afternoon/evening I'm knackered and achey and gassy. Off work for a week as I had some holidays to use and I'm laid on sofa can't keep my eyes open! Xx

FireflyGirl · 04/03/2020 13:13

👋 @Moominmiss @AlviesMam

Sorry, didn't refresh after this morning before I posted.

We might be a bit more chatty now there's more people joining, and hopefully more soon from the March thread.

We can't self refer to the epau here either, but the nurse(?) I spoke to had a chat with the consultant in charge and she decided risk of ectopic overruled waiting for a referral. If my hcg levels are high enough (over 1500), they can call me back for a scan without a referral as well.

It'll be interesting to see what the levels are - at 5 weeks when I had the mmc last summer (I was referred early because of bleeding) they were about 36,000 which is crazy high.

I think my body went a bit mad, pushing hormones at the pregnancy to try and make it work and making me feel like death in the process.

FireflyGirl · 04/03/2020 13:19

I just feel 'hungover' first thing @AlviesMam boobs are a bit tender but nothing much. I am also very gassy, both ends Blush

AlviesMam · 04/03/2020 13:45

@FireflyGirl yes I'm exactly the same. Feel hungover today! ...I get a little bit obsessed with symptoms but really trying to keep calm as I know we're all different.

I'm consultant led this pregnancy. Haven't been offered an early scan she said to just wait until my 12 weeks and from then I'll be scanned every four weeks. 16 weeks they will check the heart which I'm super nervous for as Alvie had half a heart :( luckily it wasn't genetic so I'm feeling positive x

BecsterG · 04/03/2020 14:29

Welcome to the group ladies and congratulations on your BFP's.

I'm now 10+3 and the sickness is easing. I've felt like crap since 6 weeks so feels good to feel better although it makes me feel nervous.

I've had two good scans so just waiting a few weeks for my dating scan.

@FireflyGirl fingers crossed for a high level of hormones so you can go for a scan.

It's such a rollercoaster this pregnancy malarkey

Hi to those that have just joined! Anyone else feel emotionally exhausted going from thinking ' I'm sure everything's ok, it must be ok cos of xyz' and then the next minute thinking 'but what about (insert random symptom or lack of symptom), does that mean things aren't ok?!' Argh!!

BecsterG · 04/03/2020 18:23

@raspberrypickle totally! I am like everything is fine and then I feel a cramp and I'm like oh is that normal!! Ha ha

OP posts:
AlviesMam · 04/03/2020 19:02

@raspberrypickle meeee I feel I have no symptoms this evening :-(

BS9790 · 05/03/2020 06:53

My cramps have eased off, still there occasionally but not painful anymore.
However, all of my pregnancy symptoms seem to have disappeared with them. So worried!

cduffs · 05/03/2020 07:48

Hi everyone sorry I've been missing just so tired after work recently. We went for our scan yesterday and weren't expecting much but we are having TWINS!! I'm beyond excited and can't believe it !!!

BecsterG · 05/03/2020 08:57

@cduffs wow congratulations! How are you feeling other than tired?

@BS9790 Did you say your scan is on Monday? That's good that you're not having the painful cramps anymore. I had days a few weeks ago where my symptoms would go but then they'd come back with a vengeance a few days later so they might come back. Fingers crossed it just means you're lucky.

I took my pregnancy vitamins before eating this morning is stupid as it makes me sick! Great start to the day. Envy

raspberrypickle · 05/03/2020 09:16

Congratulations @cduffs ! How exciting! X

FireflyGirl · 05/03/2020 13:37

Congratulations @cduffs, how exciting for you. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing from now on.

I had my bloods taken at hospital this morning, and am awaiting the results. I'm at work, but struggling to concentrate.

I also had a streak of blood in my discharge when I went to the loo after my appointment, which is freaking me out a bit. We DTD last night, so it could be due to that...

FireflyGirl · 05/03/2020 13:42

Got a call just as I posted. Levels are over 5000, so I'm booked in for a scan at 10am on Saturday. Time is going to drag...

Moominmiss · 05/03/2020 13:47

@FireflyGirl those levels sound good?
I’ve probably missed a previous post from you.
What was it you had blood taken for and needing a scan etc?
Hope everything is ok!

And massive congrats @cduffs TWINS!!! How exciting! I think I’d cry, but that’s only because I already have 3 lol! I’d have loved twins first time around though!

AlviesMam · 05/03/2020 14:25

@cduffs congrats that's amazing! :)

@FireflyGirl them levels sound within the normal range?

I'm getting sharp round ligament pain and I'm only 6 weeks can it happen this early? It's only when I stand up quick or cough sometimes- I didn't have this last time until after 12 weeks xx
