Wonderful news @Zoey36!! Did you get a good pic of him? How exciting

BS9790 · 19/05/2020 18:44

@MilsCookie, I've been wfh since the day after pregnant women were added to the vulnerable list. I'm a Y1 teacher so wasn't sure what would happen but my head has said I'm to continue working from home.
Feel so sad that I haven't been able to say goodbye to my class, and a bit like I've abandoned them! 😭

Zoey36 · 20/05/2020 09:36

The pictures aren't the clearest! She tried to get him to move to get a face profile picture but he was buried so deep down with his face in my placenta haha! It actually says on the scan report that the meaaurements aren't the most accurate because of his 'deep cephalic lie'. And he wouldn't get out of his little pocket! Did see him holding his foot with his hand though and that was cute!

Veryanxious · 20/05/2020 10:44

@Zoey36 amazing news! Congrats!

@MilsCookie @BS9790 I’m also a key worker but working in a hospital. I’m signed off with anxiety right now, am trying not to get ahead of myself but if this does go ok over the next couple of weeks I think work will expect me back. Not sure how I feel about it as there isn’t enough data yet to know the effect in first trimester.

I found the pregnant then screwed website quite handy for advice on work

BS9790 · 20/05/2020 11:42

@veryanxious I think the guidance is that if you can social distance whilst at work then you have to work, in first and second trimesters. I know a nurse who is pregnant and she has to work as she is provided PPE.
Such a worry not knowing what to do for the best isn't it.
Does your job allow social distancing to be in place? Or would you be provided PPE? If neither of those then I wouldnt be happy to return.
Luckily my DH work has also said that he is to work from home because I'm pg, which I think is really good of them. We've done all our shopping online so neither of us have been anywhere for 9 weeks except for scan/hospital. I would like to keep it that way too! X

FireflyGirl · 20/05/2020 14:14

Flowers @Veryanxious

Congratulations @Zoey36. I think I'll be disappointed either way Blush if it's a girl I'll be disappointed it's not another boy like DS, and if it's a boy I'll be disappointed I won't get to have a relationship like my mum has with me and my sister!

@BS9790 DH is planning to wfh as long as possible, we also haven't left the house in 9 weeks except for my appointments.

I had a chat with the lady next door on Monday, was talking for ages. She's an early years teacher who was due to retire in July, but has had to shield, so is missing her kids (school kids and grand kids) and hasn't seen anyone but her DH in 2 months. Think everyone is desperate for different company! She said she enjoys hearing DS in our garden chattering away.

I'm thinking about chucking him over the fence while they're not looking - while we were getting ready to go in the paddling pool this morning he poked my tummy and told me I was 'ginormous'. Charming, just like his dad Wink

FireflyGirl · 20/05/2020 14:15

Sorry @ChampooPapi, I seem to miss responding to you every time Blush

Thanks for updating the list. Should we note down what everyone is having if they find out?

Sparkl · 20/05/2020 15:35

Lovely to see the new list and your lovely news @Zoey36!

Sorry I’m going to ruin the mood 😔 now but I’m really struggling today. I had some more red blood when I wiped this morning. Have had tiny bits of brown on and off for the last week but nothing that was too stressful but this morning was red. Been feeling so so anxious all day. There hasn’t been anything else yet but not sure whether to do anything about it. At my scan the doctor kind of suggested I should only come back if it seems more serious or something. I have a private scan booked but it’s two weeks away. I know it’s really a case of wait and see but I’m in a bit of a panic. Trying to figure out how much of a bleed is something you should investigate. This might be tmi sorry 😐 but it was basically two wipes with a small amount of red. Do you think that’s worth ringing epu about?

I’m going to go back now to read the other posts properly and try to calm down and focus on the positives.

MilsCookie · 20/05/2020 16:59

@BS9790 that's brilliant you've been able to wfh. Ahhhh I know it's so sad for the children isn't it Sad I miss them too!

@Zoey36 haha naughty little munchkin not letting them see his face! cute that you got to see him holding his foot Smile

@FireflyGirl sounds like you have a cheeky one! children always know the best things to say don't they?! haha. I've often been asked by children (only reception) whether I'm having a baby if I've been wearing a tighter fitting dress that day... that was wayyyy before any pregnancy! Charming!! Just got to laugh though haven't you. Grin

@Sparkl I'm so sorry you're still going through this. I'm sure it's normal to get tiny bits of red. And you're around 8 weeks now aren't you? I've read it's really normal to get a mini 'period' around the time your period would be due in the first two months of pregnancy. This is why lots of women don't realise they're pregnant until later. But I would call the midwife/EPU if you're really concerned. If you explain how anxious you are they should scan you again. I'm sure everything is going to be okay but sending a big hug and positive vibes xxxxxxxxx

AlviesMam · 20/05/2020 18:07

Hi all.
So sorry I've been quiet
Had abit of anxiety due to lack of support from my consultant recently so kept away from baby threads as I've not been able to think positive.
I've had a 16 week heart check for baby today. (Which I had to fight for) They can confirm a normal heart , normal vessels with four chambers, all other organs appear normal too. This is music to my ears after TFMR due to a heart defect last October.
I have an anterior placenta again but pretty sure I'm feeling very light pops/flutters.
Next scan in two weeks and growth scans every four weeks after that. My midwife kindly said she would listen in with the Doppler once a week to keep my anxiety levels down.
Hope your all ok. Going to catch up with the thread now as I seem to have missed abit!
Sorry again for my quietness ladies Daffodil

AlviesMam · 20/05/2020 18:09

@ChampooPapi I'm due 2.11.20
Looks like we are due date buddies @FireflyGirl Grin

AlviesMam · 20/05/2020 19:26

@MilsCookie omg just caught up...TWINS?! How exciting!!! ❤️ congratulations!! Xxxx

FireflyGirl · 20/05/2020 19:37

@AlviesMam Grin Yey us!

So glad to hear everything went well at the scan, welcome back Flowers

Whiffle77 · 20/05/2020 19:52

Welcome back @AlviesMam hope you are feeling better after your positive check up.
Oh @Sparkl sorry you are having such a rubbish time. Bleeding can be so common and for so many reasons. When was your last scan? I would ring the EPU again or your midwife, just say you're bleeding again and you're really worried. Hopefully it's nothing but I'm sure it would be good to put your mind at rest. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way, hope tomorrow is a better day xxx

AlviesMam · 20/05/2020 20:02

@Whiffle77 @FireflyGirl thanks ladies! Xx

ChampooPapi · 20/05/2020 20:33

@AlviesMam hey lovely, so good to see you here! I will update the list tomorrow with you 💜 then I can add an extra day to everyone's so we can all enjoy that, lol! Each day is a success to us all.

Took us five months in the end, the same gap as @MilsCookie and I'm having twins as well, 2 girls and am slowly clawing my way out of the neseua and I can see the greener pastures on the horizon now. Just over 13 weeks.

ChampooPapi · 20/05/2020 20:36

@Sparkl yes absolutely ring the maternity unit, you need to go in for certain. You poor thing, I'm just so sorry you are going through this, it's so consuming the worry and it just makes everything miserable doesn't it, I really really feel for you. I too am sure that this is just a normal part of the pregnancy and the baby is ok, but you need reassuence and answers

ChampooPapi · 20/05/2020 20:37

@AlviesMam do you know what your having yet?

Sparkl · 20/05/2020 21:21

Thanks ladies. @MilsCookie I’m 7+5. I just feel like I can’t make rational decisions about this anymore, I just go straight into panic mode. @Whiffle77 I had my scan just over a week ago. Feel like I might be making a fuss over nothing. In one way I’m thinking there’s nothing they will do anyway at this early stage so is it more stressful to go in to the epu again.
You’re right @champoopapi I might as well ring them. The midwife was very nice on the phone before.

Been feeling sick for the first time but I know it’s just nerves! Have to keep reminding myself that my first pregnancy I had hardly any symptoms and that it’s not a bad sign.

Sparkl · 20/05/2020 21:23

@AlviesMam delighted your scan went well.
Sounds like you have a set of scans and appointments ahead to hopefully put your mind at ease Flowers

Sparkl · 20/05/2020 21:24

A good set

That should say

TerribleImagination · 20/05/2020 21:24

Question... how has everyone been with the old morning sickness? Mine has kicked in nicely the past two days 🤣🤣 Not complaining, it’s a good sign ❤️ Not being sick (yet) but definitely at the constant nausea and ‘many many foods make me want to vom’ stage 😂😂 I’m not a sicky person (I’m one of those weird people who’s scared of being sick), haven’t been physically sick in probably 10 years... But I’m sure that means nothing when HCG comes to the party 🤣

What weeks was it the worst for you guys who’ve had it? Preparing myself for investing in shares of salt and vinegar crisps haha

AlviesMam · 20/05/2020 21:25

@ChampooPapi thank you. Omg two girls that is amazing to hear! 😍
I don't know what I'm having yet. I didn't ask today as NHS won't tell me until I'm 18-20'weeks so I will update you all in two weeks time!

@Sparkl hope your trying your best to keep positive. I had two light bleeds one at 7.5 weeks and one at 12 weeks, mostly brown but EPU said if it's not filling a pad then don't come in so I trusted them. I hope you can stay settled. Thinking of you x

AlviesMam · 20/05/2020 21:31

@TerribleImagination OMG salt and vinegar squares are the way forward. My sickness subsided at 9 weeks was really bad between 7-9 , I found that just eating something stopped the nausea for a short while but I was sick most mornings. It came back at 12 weeks now it's gone! From 13 weeks I was eating cheese and onion on toast for breakfast every morning WTF! Eating a very balanced diet now my pickiness with food has stopped, even started some light arm weights as I'm paranoid about gaining loads (stupid I know). The sickness gets better but I know some people have had sickness all the way through, that would be my worst nightmare arghh xxx

FireflyGirl · 20/05/2020 21:44

@Sparkl definitely speak to your midwife again. Hopefully it'll help settle your nerves. Sorry you're having this additional worry.

@TerribleImagination I hate being sick as well. Oddly, when I was sick after my C-section with DS, it didn't bother me because I was off my head on all the drugs the spinal they gave me had numbed my stomach muscles so I couldn't feel them convulsing and I discovered that was what I don't like!

I'm 16+2 and I've had no nausea and actually felt quite normal today for pretty much the first time since getting a positive test, and have eaten proper food, including salad! Fingers crossed it lasts!! (I did have a pickled onion Monster Munch crisp sandwich for breakfast, though Blush)
