I know... I am so so shocked! They are monoamniotic... which means they share the same sac and is high risk... I'm terrified!!

MilsCookie · 16/05/2020 13:13

Here are the two little blobs!!

ChampooPapi · 16/05/2020 13:27

@MilsCookie this is incredible news! The exact same thing happened to me! But at 8 weeks, bleeding, went to the hospital the next day for a scan, and thinking it was all over, going to be told the worst had happened, only to be told, there's two babies!

How did they break it to you?! They get a lot of bad news in that department so my sonographer was tearing up too. Did you cry your eyes out? Or just stunned into a zombie state 😆.

Yay, twin buddies for life 🥰💜 (I mean us and your babies obviously!)

And yes, prepare for worrying almost continuously for the next month at least. It's brutal I'm afraid with a double pregnancy up until 12 weeks.

ChampooPapi · 16/05/2020 13:30

@MilsCookie great picture of the beans 👣👣

You are so going to have to book at scan for in a couple of weeks, you will honestly need that reassuence I think.

ChampooPapi · 16/05/2020 13:32

@MilsCookie on a big plus, from 12 weeks you get scanned every 4 weeks through the pregnancy so that's the great thing about twins as well. It's just this time that is hard, and I honestly pray to the god of headaches you don't suffer to badly, they have been quite equisite with this pregnancy. And not in a good way 🛌🤢

MilsCookie · 16/05/2020 13:32

@champoopapi yes I remember!!! She was just like "I just want to show you something... you see this embryo here? And there's another one..." or something like that...! It's all a bit of blur! I was just lying there laughing out loud like a maniac! COULD NOT believe it! All I kept thinking about was what is my DP gonna say.... oh my god.

Mine are monoamniotic-monochorionic which means they share they same placenta and sac but have separate umbilical cords. Are yours the same? The next few weeks are going to stressful as hell!! Did you get your results back from the harmony test? xxx

ChampooPapi · 16/05/2020 13:46

@MilsCookie it's mind bending isn't it! I didn't even understand how they existed and I'm very scientifically minded. I felt like a child they had to explain the birds and bees too. My brain just dribbled out my ears after she said the words 'baby number 2'. I was also laughing and weeping through all the explaining. Then afterwards you just feel stunned don't you. There is something truly incredible about having lost a baby then to become pregnant with two instead of one, it is such a gift.

The thing about your partner is so true! Because mine couldn't be in there either they were both obviously thinking the worst and worrying at home/in the car. Breaking that news is something you'll never forget 🥰😆

Nipt results all low risk and we are having two girls! So my partner is laughing even more like a mad man these days, 4 girls he's produced. Power to the vagina!

I'm so excited for you! Mine are in separate sacks/pods , whatever they are in 🤦😆 and separate plancenta's so non identical, though still 1 in three chance they end up being identical apparently to the twin people on here. Especially as they are both girls.

I am so thrilled for you, just had a few tears actually. You fantastic fertility goodness 💖♀️ 💪 absolutely amazing news all round 🙌

ChampooPapi · 16/05/2020 13:48

@MilsCookie oh and start doubling up on folic acid 👍

MilsCookie · 16/05/2020 13:56

@champoopapi yep exactly!!! I just can't fathom how this has happened to me. I am not going to be able to do much for the rest of the day I don't think. I'm just so worried that because of their shared sac and fluid they're super high risk. I guess time will tell. Haha oh yes telling my DP was the most hilarious thing!! He was just like "you're joking. are you joking? are you being serious? no. I don't believe you. You're serious?!" and then I showed him the scan photo and I just couldn't stop laughing. It's madness!! Don't want to get ahead of myself though.

Wow two girls to add to your brood of girls!! That's amazing! You're like motherofdaughters (on instagram - if you've heard of her!) So pleased that all the results came back positive as well! That must be such a relief. When are you having your next scan? Oooo hadn't thought of that about the folic acid... will start taking twice the dose! xx

ChampooPapi · 16/05/2020 14:16

@MilsCookie haha, yes I have heard of her on Instagram, I haven't been on it myself for years but mumsnet is all over her arnt they, in a good and a bad way! I'm currently watching the great British menu eating crisp sandwiches on the sofa so I will currently not be Instagraming my life 😂

My entire family are outside in the sun playing badminton. They are no longer anything to do with me. They basically live life to the full, while I wallow on soft furnishings and complete I player 😆

One day at a time for you of course, bit very very positive news of seeing heartbeats, massive increase in reliability of pregnancy now. Get that 8 week scan booked in somewhere, make sure your a bit over as twins grow/measure sometimes a few days different. From then even with identical twins your chances go up to over 95%.

Just do what's right for you over the coming weeks especially. And eat whatever you want, rest as much as you can, and honest to God everytime you see a thread on the pregnancy boards that mention anything bad just click on it and hide it. You need to self preserve now more then ever.

Wow I'm just amazed and so happy for you! You got a double rainbow 🌈🌈

Zoey36 · 16/05/2020 14:21

WOWWWWWWW! Amazing! So pleased all was well and then wow!

ChampooPapi · 16/05/2020 14:23

Oh also I'll update our list tomorrow evening, counting on from our last list . @MilsCookie did your dates change, could they measure 6,3?

MilsCookie · 16/05/2020 15:13

@champoopapi hahahaha bless you, you make me laugh with the things you say!! "completing iplayer" Grin - I'm about to spend the next few weeks completing Netflix!!! Luckily I had booked a scan for 8 weeks when I reached the 6 week mark. So my next scan is on 27th may. EEEEEEK.

Ooo yes I'll be excited to see the list updated! They measured 6 weeks exactly... (so only 3 days behind what I thought) One was measuring 4.9mm and the other 4.5mm. Fuck me. I just can't believe it!!!!!! (please excuse my French!!) xxx

BecsterG · 16/05/2020 16:33

Wow congratulations @MilsCookie! So pleased there was a heartbeat...two even! He he Definitely news you'll never forget being told!

FireflyGirl · 16/05/2020 18:08

Yey, @MilsCookie! Identical twins, congratulations!! Don't forget to pack nail varnish in your hospital bag so you can remember which one is which Grin I'm so excited for you ❤️

In other news, I think I have felt the baby roll over today - it was like a grinding feeling in the bottom of my pelvis, that I seem to remember from DS. I've been wondering for about a week if I could feel something. The other feelings could have been wind Blush but this was quite distinctive!

BecsterG · 16/05/2020 18:49

Yeay @FireflyGirl that's great. That's exactly how my baby feels. It's a weird sensation isn't it?

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 16/05/2020 19:47

@FireflyGirl I love that feeling, I find it strangely satisfying. That turning, and knowing they are gives you those incredible boosts of calm and reassuence don't they. Can't believe I'll be updating tomorrow, so we are another week on 🙌

Whiffle77 · 17/05/2020 09:58

Oh @MilsCookie !!!!!!! Only just got online and seen this! Oh my goodness, so pleased it was good news - and double good news at that! I'm sure your head is reeling but this is SO exciting! Very pleased for you. Wishing the next few weeks whizz by super fast for you (and for all of us!) Eeeek!

MilsCookie · 17/05/2020 10:37

Thank you all!! It's just madness. I woke up this morning thinking, did I DREAM what just happened?!!? Oh no, there's the scan pics. There are definitely two!! Just got the extra anxiety now that they're both gonna make it to 12 weeks.

@ChampooPapi you've got your scan tomorrow haven't you? How are you feeling about it?

Who's having a scan next? It must be almost your turn @whiffle77? Hope everyone is feeling okay today! xx

Whiffle77 · 17/05/2020 11:19

Week on Tuesday for my 12 week scan yes, so not long to wait. My anxiety seems to be increasing each day coming up to it though, but I'm still looking forward to it too!

ChampooPapi · 17/05/2020 15:33

@Whiffle77 I'd definitely say it's a slow creeping anxiety untill about 48 hours pre scan, then you legitimately go completely insane. I would advise a social media 2 day detox the Sunday/Monday before yours. I was a basket case before my last one at 11 weeks.

@MilsCookie i'm feeling a lot better then last time, but obviously still a fair bit crazed. I have been feeling very tired and sick today and went for a very long walk this morning to kill some of the day, I can't advise that enough. I'm so bloody tired now I'm pretty close to not even caring about the scan, I'm currently in situ as per (sofa slutting) while drinking pint after pint of water.

Pregnancy is thirsty work!

MilsCookie · 17/05/2020 17:17

@Whiffle77 I can totally understand that. But you had an early scan where everything looked okay right? So the odds are definitely in your favour 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 How are you feeling symptoms wise? Are they starting to ease at all?

@champoopapi that's brilliant you were able to keep yourself busy for most of the day - definitely makes the time pass quicker! What time is your scan tomorrow? Will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes! 💫🤞🏻❤️ xxx

BS9790 · 17/05/2020 17:35

@MilsCookie whoo! So pleased that you got good news.... Double the good news at that. ❤️

I've done a new 'bump' photo today and I'm definitely getting fatter, but still pretty sure it's bloat/lockdown cheese eating that's causing it 😂😂

Only 4 more days til our private scan, where hopefully get some reassurance and find out what flavour our jellybean is! 🤞I'm going to keep myself busy writing school reports for the next couple of days and hope the days go quickly!

FireflyGirl · 17/05/2020 22:15

Fingers crossed for you @BS9790

I can feel lots of churning in my tummy, think it's baby turning over. I can't wait to be able to feel them properly.

I have my 16 week appointment tomorrow, over the telephone. Not sure what it will involve, but it'll hopefully be reassuring to speak to them.

TerribleImagination · 18/05/2020 07:32

Morning! How is everyone?

I’m having a bit of a mare here, worrying myself (probably over nothing)...

I woke up in the night last night with cramps that were worse than any I’ve had before with this pregnancy, not crippling, but bad enough. TMI but they went away not long after going to the loo (number 2!). But I’ve woken up this morning and my previously very swollen and sore boobs have gone down and stopped hurting... and I’m feeling a little bit crampy on and off (but not as strong as last night).

I’m probably worrying over nothing, but I can’t help but feel anxious! Have any of you had anything similar in the early days? I’m 6+3 today.
