Hi Ladies, hoping you all can join soon. The TTC (trying to conceive) after MC (miscarriage) January group have been so supportive I hope we can keep it up for those who have BFP (big fat positive).

Ooof this thread had disappeared out of I'm on for some reason, I've missed so much! Hope everyone is doing ok Smile I've made it to nine weeks today and had a private scan last week which all went great! Have still felt super anxious this week but trying to keep it under control. I'm still exhausted but my nausea has eased loads which is something.
Hi @milscookie fab to see you here! I felt/still feel very anxious in these early weeks. I'm just ticking each day off as a win, and trying to focus on near dates as accomplishments rather than anything night like 12 weeks. Time has dragged but I feel better than I did a few weeks ago. I've done a lot of walking and meditating as well which really helps

MilsCookie · 01/05/2020 19:44

@ChampooPapi thank you for the link to that thread, I've just had a read and it has made me think. For now I'm just going to take it one day at a time and hopefully get an early scan around 8 weeks, then following on from that will make a decision! I totally understand why you would want to get it though as you're having twins. Have you got your head around that yet by the way?! Do twins run in your family?

Thank you @Whiffle77 I'm honestly just so grateful to have made it to this thread!! And I'm so happy for you that your scan went well! Was your partner allowed to go with you?

BS9790 · 02/05/2020 08:56

@MilsCookie I have a 31/32 day cycle as well, when I saw my midwife she used LMP and counted on in weeks on calendar, even though I told her my cycle was longer. I worked it out myself and when I had my dating scan they dated me exactly the same as my dates!! X

Whiffle77 · 02/05/2020 09:13

They did @MilsCookie I went to window to the womb, and they allow one person. I don't think he will be allowed at my 12 week scan but that's a few weeks away yet so it may change - we are assuming it won't tho and then it will be a pleasant surprise if it has!

MilsCookie · 02/05/2020 09:57

@BS9790 that's so interesting!! If I go by LMP I should be 4+6 but I'm going to hold myself back because of my slightly longer cycles and say 4+3. That dating scan just seems like years away! 🙈

@Whiffle77 that's so good your partner could come to the first scan. I feel so anxious about it already. Did you get a pic?

Whiffle77 · 02/05/2020 10:19

Yes I was worried too @milscookie but they were really lovely and put me at ease. Yes they gave me a pic and a little report as well which was good. I'm glad I went but it now seems ages to my next scan! I will still be worried then but psychologically for me it was the right thing to have an early one.

BS9790 · 02/05/2020 16:52

@MilsCookie yes I would go with 4+3. Think mine was 3 days less than using LMP and dating scan agreed with me... X

I'm 14 weeks today and feel someone has been poking me repeatedly in one spot on my tummy!! Could this be round ligament pain does anyone know? It's not like the sharp ones that catch you by surprise when you sneeze lol but more like a sore niggle, a bit like a bruise I guess. It goes after a while and then comes back Xx

MilsCookie · 02/05/2020 17:15

@Whiffle77 it must have been worth it for the reassurance, even if it now feels like ages until the next one. I've decided I'm definitely going to get an early scan and probably going to book it between 7 and 8 weeks at one of the Window to the Womb clinics. But not going to book anything until I've made it to 6 weeks. I think chunking the next 2 months between now and the 12 week scan will definitely help me manage my anxiety around it all.

@BS9790 thank you for the dating advice - that's what I'll go with. That's amazing you were so spot on with your dates at your dating scan! I had a scan last time at 8 weeks and baby only measured 6+4 so I guess something must have been wrong even then (I had a missed miscarriage at 12 week scan so no signs anything was wrong) but I was so naive and just thought I'd got my dates wrong or it was a slow grower. I've read that by 8 weeks if there's a strong heartbeat and the dates match up then the chances of miscarriage after that go way down. So a month to go until I'll hopefully be able to get some reassurance! I'm not sure what that poking might be... could it be your jellybean or is it too early?!

BecsterG · 02/05/2020 19:33

@BS9790 it could be round ligament pain. I had it about the same time and it was to the left or right of my bump. When you said poking the first thing I thought was that it could be wee baby kicks but I guess quite early for that. I felt them for the first time about 16/17 weeks but I was about 22 weeks with my son.

@MilsCookie I had two early scans and both were offered by EPU but if I hadn't been offered I would have paid privately as 12 weeks is a long time for anyone to wait let alone someone whose been through what we have.

OP posts:
MilsCookie · 02/05/2020 19:57

@BecsterG sorry to ask but I can't remember, have you had more than one loss? Is that why they offered you an early scan? I don't think the EPU in my area would offer me anything (particularly with everything going on) but I suppose I could ring and ask? Would much prefer to get it on the NHS but I do understand they're stretched at the moment! Confused

BecsterG · 02/05/2020 20:13

@MilsCookie I was told when I had my scan after the miscarriage to call them if I was to get pregnant again between 6-8 weeks and they'd give me a reassurance scan. NHS Scotland do reassurance scans at 8 weeks and then they offered me one two weeks later to follow up.

I've only had one miscarriage but it was twins and I have a heart shaped uterus so that might have been why?

@FireflyGirl you had your reassurance scans at the EPU too didn't you?

OP posts:
BecsterG · 02/05/2020 20:15

Sorry I meant @Zoey36 for the early scans not @FireflyGirl ! Doh my memory is shocking.

Sorry ladies x

OP posts:
BS9790 · 02/05/2020 21:04

I think it probably is round ligament pain, it's more like I've been poked from the outside not the inside if that makes sense!

I had an early scan in the EPU but this was due to me having bad cramps, I wouldn't have been offered one otherwise (1 previous mc) xx

Zoey36 · 02/05/2020 22:33

Yes I had 3 scans (6,8and 10 weeks) under the miscarriage clinic before being transferred over to routine antenatal care. I was referred as had 3 loses but I got pregnant before my first appointment but they still offered the scans. It was more than I was expecting to be honest but I am thankful for that reassurance now even though at the the time, the scan day would cause more anxiety than I thought it was worth.

BecsterG · 03/05/2020 09:11

I love having scans but you defo get anxious before them probably until the 20 weeks scan and then relax a bit. I had quite a few later on when I was pregnant with my son and wasn't anxious at all as could feel him moving etc.

Nice to know everything is good in there though!

Whiffle77 · 03/05/2020 09:42

I would've asked for an early nhs scan if we weren't in the crisis we are now, I just assumed it would be a no unless I had a reason for it like bleeding. Plus I didnt want to go to the hospital if I didnt absolutely have to! We ended up driving to the next city over for a private one as it was the only one open, but roads were obviously dead!

MilsCookie · 03/05/2020 09:45

I do keep getting a weird stabbing pain on the left side of my uterus but it comes and goes. It's actually been there since I had the ERPC for my mmc so I'm wondering if it's a cyst or some scarring? I might call up and see if that can all be checked. It's also weirdly connected to (I think) a nerve in my left thigh because sometimes if I suddenly hit or brush my thigh on something, I feel it in my ovary! It's only happened since the surgery - but it seems more noticeable now. Weird!

I did another pregnancy test this morning and it's much darker than the one I did 3 days ago - phew!! Although I know this doesn't necessarily mean anything but hopefully it does mean the hCG levels are increasing. SO much more anxiety this time round!

I'm sorry you've had 3 losses @Zoey36 Sad how are you finding this pregnancy?

BecsterG · 03/05/2020 15:30

@MilsCookie that's good news about the test. I POAS every day for about 2 weeks. I was obsessed but I think stopped myself as I was being ridiculous.

I had a panic at one point as a digital went from 2-3 weeks to 1-2 so majorly panicked but two days later it was 3+ weeks. That's went I decided enough was enough. Ha ha

I feel like my bump as shrunk in the last week, defo not grown. My husband and I are doing 30 days of clean eating so maybe that's it as we've stopped eating crap! Ha ha

I finally felt proper kicks last night and could see my tummy move this morning! It's been the thing that has been making me noat anxious because I felt my first move more earlier than this and xpuldnt face going to a scan having not felt movement. Such a relief! I think I'm just fatter than I was with my first so missed all the fluttery feelings.

@MilsCookie I've found this pregnancy okay but I think it's a combo of having the scans early on and also just not caring. That sounds awful.....I do care but I've
very much detatched myself from the fact I'm pregnant. I did have 3 loses but the last two were at 5 weeks so I feel bad having had a referral to the mc clinic as I know other women who haven't been able to 'count' loses which weren't confirmed by a scan (mine weren't).

TerribleImagination · 04/05/2020 10:15

Hi everyone! 👋🏻
I’m very happy to be able to join you all after getting my BFP on Saturday! 🥰 5 months of trying (and 4 full cycles) since the MC and now I’m ready to do this! 💪🏻 Crossing everything this one works out! 🤞🏻

I was only 12DPO when I took the test, so wanted to get through those scary couple of days waiting to see if AF arrived, but no sign of it (and I hope it stays away for a long time!) and I’m already feeling nauseous and have the watery CM going on! So hoping these are all good signs 🤞🏻

It’s so lovely to see you all here talking about your pregnancies and I’m so pleased they’re all progressing so well! ❤️

MilsCookie · 04/05/2020 10:42

@BecsterG oh god that must have made you worry so much seeing the test go down a week! I have one CB digital left and I was going to save that until the 6 week mark to hopefully see "3+". I haven't done a test today as I know it won't have changed much from yesterday. Might do another in a couple of days though.... seeing those 2 lines appear is just weirdly satisfying after months of only seeing 1 line! I'm sure your bump is doing just fine - I suppose a lot of the time our bump is a mixture of baby and bloat/what we've eaten! So it must depend on how bloated we are as well.

@Zoey36 oh wow how amazing to see your tummy move!! I can't wait for that... bless you I know what you mean about feeling detached. I think it's a way of protecting ourselves as we know what it's like to have hope and then for that all to come crashing down. How many weeks are you now?

@TerribleImagination yayyyyy so glad you're here girl!! And so glad AF has stayed away! Congratulations again! Grin xxx

BecsterG · 04/05/2020 10:51

Congratulations @TerribleImagination that's lovely news! I was like you and tested early so didn't really believe it until my period was late.

@MilsCookie at the time yes it made me very worried but it's my own stupid fault for testing every day! Definitely better when you stop.

It's finally 20 week scan week for me. Come on Thursday let's do this!!!

OP posts:
TerribleImagination · 04/05/2020 11:01

Thanks @MilsCookie 😍😍 Yeaaah here’s hoping it continues to stay away! I’m still feeling nauseous, and I’ve never been happier to feel sick in my life 🤣

Thanks @BecsterG 🥰🥰 Thats good to know you got an early positive and the little one stayed put! How exciting you’ve got your 20 week scan this week! ❤️

BecsterG · 04/05/2020 11:02

@TerribleImagination ha ha it's true you're so happy to have symptoms right!

Yes I'm 19 weeks just now and my scan is Thursday. Feels like it's taken ages to get here!
