Hi Ladies, hoping you all can join soon. The TTC (trying to conceive) after MC (miscarriage) January group have been so supportive I hope we can keep it up for those who have BFP (big fat positive).

No problem.
I'm 16+3 today. Anyone know how/when the scan dates are generated? I'll call my midwife if I don't hear anything by next Monday. She said there might be a 16 week check over the phone so she might call before then anyway but I'm wanting to know a date now!

AlviesMam · 22/04/2020 10:45

@Zoey36 I booked my 18 week scan before I left the hospital yesterday. Must be different in different areas x

BecsterG · 22/04/2020 11:16

@FireflyGirl so pleased you found he heartbeat. It is reassuring to hear isn't it. I've listened to it every night for almost a week now ha ha. Not long left until your scan. Exciting!

@AlviesMam great news the scan went well 👍🏻

@Zoey36 I'm in Scotland so know it's completely different up here but I booked my 20 week scan as I left the dating scan. I'll be 19+5 when I have my scan.

Also I was to have an appointment with the consultant at the hospital on Friday (I'm 18 weeks on Saturday) and they called last week to say the consultant has reviewed my notes and isn't concerned so I've been downgraded to midwife lead care and my next face to face appointment will be 22 weeks so just waiting for my new appointment. It means I don't have to go into the big hospitals. Sadly for me it means I won't get any more scans which I was originally told I'd get. Oh well I'm sure we'll pay for a private one.

I actually feel a bit under the weather today. Very tired, a little achy and generally just feel like I'm coming down with something like a cold. Fingers crossed that's all it is. So pleased I feel like this just over 2 weeks before my scan as 14 days will take me to the Tuesday before.

I didn't go to the dating scan so I suspect that's probably why I haven't heard anything then! Oops! Thanks for the insight!

I am fatter than when i got pregnant with my daughter, and my tummy muscles never got close to even being together again (I really should have sorted this!) so I was expecting to show a bit sooner but I am actually shocked that I look pregnant in certain clothes already! 😱 I can't fasten my Jeans. I have very few maternity clothes because I gave them to my friend and now it's a bit tricky to get them back in lockdown ha!
I was teaching last time and I told my class at 26 weeks and some parents came and apologised to me that their kids were making things up! I had to explain that it was true! Nobody would have known until about 28 weeks I'd say. I'd still get away with it now in the right clothes but not as easily!

BecsterG · 23/04/2020 09:07

@Zoey36 of course I forgot. Give them a call and see if you can make an appointment as it's not too far away now.

I'm a stone (or should say was ha ha) heavier at the start of this pregnancy than I was with my son and I had a bump pretty early. I was in maternity clothes at 11 weeks and at night the bump has been pretty big. I read that because tummy muscles aren't as strong by the end of the day they relax and can't hold the baby in as much so you look bigger later on in the day. I'd say I'm now as big as I was at 23 weeks! At 18 weeks last time I had a tiny bump that no one would have recognised.

My 20 week scan is 2 weeks today! So excited for it. My SIL is having her third today by section as the baby is breech and I'm desperate to know what it is. Makes me brooder and more impatient ha ha

I contacted the midwife who did confirm that it would normally have been booked after the dating scan oops! So I'm going to call Monday and hopefully get one. I Hardly feel any movement. At this stage it was a lot more obvious with my first pregnancy so I'm a bit anxious to get a scan for asap! 18weeka over 21!

BecsterG · 26/04/2020 18:40

@Zoey36 I'm sure you'll get one sorted tomorrow. I'll be 19+6 I think at mine.

OP posts:
Zoey36 · 27/04/2020 09:42

I got one! I'll be 20+3 and was so hoping for one sooner as I'm not feeling very positive! But glad to have one!

BecsterG · 27/04/2020 19:15

@Zoey36 Yeay. Is that just over 2 weeks away?

OP posts:
Zoey36 · 28/04/2020 08:21

3 weeks today!

BecsterG · 28/04/2020 10:28

Not too bad I guess although I know 3 weeks feels like forever. Mine is a week on Thursday and it feels like the taken ages to get here and it's still over a week away. I'm getting impatient!

@Zoey36 are you going to find out the sex this time? I think we are this time round obviously fingers crossed everything is OK too.

OP posts:
Zoey36 · 28/04/2020 13:28

I'm hoping I start to feel more movement before then as I'm now doubting whether I ever felt it in the first place as I've hard nothing since! I know there's probably a very normal explanation like anterior placenta, position of baby etc, being fatter haha. But it would be a nice bit of reassurance!

I absolutely will find out this time! I didn't last time. But as a family we all share the kids' clothes and would want to feel a bit prepared! I also would prefer a girl 🤦🏼‍♀️ hate admitting that but I would want to know before the baby actually arrived! What is your thinking for finding out?

BecsterG · 28/04/2020 14:15

@Zoey36 I was the same as you, thought I'd felt movement weeks ago but wasn't sure. For the last week and a bit I've felt little kicks and I'm fairly confident that's what they are as when I listen to the heartbeat sometimes I feel a kick and I can hear it too if that makes sense?

Ha ha I'm the same as you. We have a boy so I'd love a girl too! It's one of the reasons we're finding out although I'd just be grateful for a healthy baby. My brother has boys so I've already had the hand me downs but I want to be organised and if we know the sex it means I can ruthlessly go through all boy baby stuff from new born up until now and get rid of anything that's not needed.

Have you been doing any old wives tales? Do you have a feeling of what you're having? I think a boy for me because I see us with two boys.

How are the rest of you ladies getting on? @AlviesMam @FireflyGirl @BS9790 @cduffs @ChampooPapi (hope I've included everyone - sorry if I've missed you)

OP posts:
Zoey36 · 28/04/2020 14:23

I have a strong feeling this is a boy! With my daughter I only ever prepared for a girl as I just felt like she was ha! I'd love her to have a sister!

BS9790 · 28/04/2020 17:23

@BecsterG I'm good thank you. Ended up at the hospital last week, been struggling with pains and a really tender lower abdomen. Assumed it was normal, until the pain got that bad it was making me vomit. Couldn't see a GP as there not seeing patients, rang EPU and they called me in. I've got a bad bladder infection so a weeks worth of antiBs and also some codeine for pain. They think some pain is being cause by bowel issues as I was been investigated for ibs before pregnancy/lockdown, which they think pregnancy is now making worse.

All fun and games! On the plus side I'm now feeling better each day and they gave me a scan which was 100 times a nicer experience than my dating scan... It made me cry happy tears! So that was good!.

I'm actually starting to wonder when I will actually start to feel pregnant, I have no cravings, no aversions, no sickness, no sore boobs, no bump, cramps have stopped... It's so surreal and a bit unnerving! Looking forward to being able to feel some movement etc!

Hope everyone is doing OK... Rubbish weather here today, making lockdown that bit harder to tolerate! Xx

BS9790 · 28/04/2020 17:24

Woah, sorry for the essay!! 😳 Think I'm missing human conversation!!

BecsterG · 28/04/2020 18:42

@BS9790 that's great you're starting to feel better. That must have been horrendous for you.

So pleased you got another scan and had a great experiences.

So get the missing interactions! Ha ha

@Zoey36 I'd like a girl mainly as we have a boy but at the same time him having a brother would be lovely.

BS9790 · 28/04/2020 19:34

I'm swaying to girl, because I think my scan photo looks girly haha! Not sure what the logic in that is... Had no inkling before that.

FireflyGirl · 28/04/2020 19:36

Sorry, I've been knackered and nauseous Grin

12+5 today, have my dating scan on Thursday. DH and I have been listening to baby's heartbeat every night to reassure ourselves, which has been nice, but I'm looking forward to having pictures as well.

We have DS, and DSis has a boy, so another boy would fit in perfectly here, but I much prefer girls' clothes. So, in summary, I will be both pleased and disappointed whichever sex we get Grin no pleasing some people!

@BS9790 sorry to hear you've been ill, but how lovely you got another (better!) scan.

BecsterG · 29/04/2020 10:31

@FireflyGirl how exciting it's on Thursday. Not long to go to wait now. Hearing he heartbeat is definitely reassuring. I do the same.

I'd be happy with either too but love girls clothes and think it would be nice to have one of each but I see us with two boys.

I had a really vivid dream last night, well actually my son woke me up from it this morning. In the dream I had a big baby boy on Halloween at a party and I was saying OMG he's 27 days early but actually he would have been a month late. Grin

BecsterG · 29/04/2020 11:21

@BS9790 love that you thought the scan looked girly! He he I wonder if it is a girl.

FireflyGirl · 30/04/2020 13:45

Got to love pregnancy dreams.

Everything went well at the scan, although the sonographer had to turn into a contortionist to get the measurements as baby was very comfy and not moving, thank you very much Grin

He (?) will be a big 'newborn' by Halloween Grin

Hello everyone - hope you don't mind me joining. I was on the first ttc after miscarriage thread in Jan? It's lovely to see some familiar names here and that you're all doing well! Amazing scan pic @FireflyGirl!

This morning, after 4 months of trying again after our mc, I finally got the BFP of my dreams. I'm totally in shock!!! Feeling very anxious at the moment and just praying it doesn't happen again. Can I ask how you all coped with first trimester anxiety?

Lots of love to you all xxxx

Sorry just seen your tag from Tuesday @BecsterG I've been horrendous with morning sickness still at nearly 14 weeks- thought it went away by now Sad other than that still really nervous! Just over four weeks until the baby's heart scan.
Got my results back for chromosome abnormalities I got 1 in 50,000 chance with an NT of 1.2mm so very low risk which I'm over the moon with x
