Hi Ladies, hoping you all can join soon. The TTC (trying to conceive) after MC (miscarriage) January group have been so supportive I hope we can keep it up for those who have BFP (big fat positive).

Hi ladies, I've been keeping my eye on posts but keeping quiet for a while now.
My anxiety is through the roof, with nothing much to keep me busy my mind is going into overdrive.
I'm 9 + 2 and Still got over 2 weeks until my scan...nausea, hunger, sore boobs, twingey feelings etc have all completely disappeared a few days ago.
Replaced yesterday with horrific headache, no appetite and just feeling generally "ill"... Been in bed for 24 hours, can't shift it.
I know the EPU won't see me just for loss of symptoms, but just feel something isnt right.

BecsterG · 30/03/2020 14:49

Hi @BS9790 nice to hear from.
If it's an consolation I experienced the same thing when I was 9 weeks, almost 10. One day I was laying in the couch feeling so rough and the next day I felt so much better. It was like night and day. I then started ya big headaches and had one every day for the next week or so but they've now gone. I like you thought it was a bad thing the loss of symptoms but it doesn't have to be.

Sorry not sure that helps but sometimes it's nice to hear of people who've experienced what you're going through.

Hi everyone, finally feeling a little more confident to post on here.

I had a miscarriage of my first in November and the a very welcomed surprise BFP in early January. I’m 15 weeks today and I found out last week via the harmony test that I am having a little girl.

I’m getting more confident everyday but still petrified that something will go wrong. I just want my little baby and to become a mummy so badly.

I had to move house this weekend as we had exchanged pre Covid so it was very stressful but I tried to keep away from the removal men and I’m back to self-isolating now so I hope I was careful enough to avoid it!

Glad to see everyone is doing so well and keeping positive even in this very strange world we currently live in!

BS9790 · 30/03/2020 16:08

Thanks @BecsterG that is reassuring.
I didn't know wether to ring the EPU because I'm worried, but I know I'm probably just being paranoid and they will tell me as much!!
Also, obviously don't want to be putting any unnecessary pressure on the NHS at the moment!

BecsterG · 30/03/2020 16:14

Welcome @MrsB16. I'm 14+3 so not too far behind you. Congratulations on your little girl. I've heard people taking about the harmony test. Is it expensive? We're planning to find out the sex with this one.

@BS9790 if calling will reassure you then I'd do it. Unnecessary stress is also not good for you. So hard and the wait is so long I know.

MrsB16 · 30/03/2020 16:36

Thanks @BecsterG we are very excited for our little girl.

We had the harmony test done at the Chelsea and Westminster hospital, it was £375 payable in full at the time of the test. Sometimes it can be more expensive but this option didn’t provide an further scan so it was cheaper. I had it done the same day as my 12 week scan so I didn’t need a further scan and it took just over a week to get the results.

I have seen it go up to about £500 depending on where you are in the country and whether they want to do a further scan to check the NT fold rather than relying on your NHS scan notes.

I think it was worth it but I know not all reviews of it are favourable!

AlviesMam · 31/03/2020 16:08

How is everyone today?
I live in the north east and it's cold and cloudy today so I've not been motivated to do my daily walk :-(
Also I have the sudden urge of stuffing my face with a Big Mac meal...arghhh this is so shit lol!!!

BecsterG · 31/03/2020 16:52

Oh no @AlviesMam could you make one so it's similar? Not the same I know.

My craving at the moment is red liquorice. My husband bought a packet yesterday. I was like what you just bought one packet! Ha ha I've just ordered some on amazon although I have to wait until Thursday! Ha ha

I'm coping quite well so far. Really impressed with how my son is handling it and so shocked we've had no tantrums in the last two weeks.

How you feeling? It's good you feel like eating! I often want to eat but can't think of anything I fancy which is annoying.

OP posts:
AlviesMam · 31/03/2020 17:21

@BecsterG I have no appetite at all but thinking of a Big Mac is making me just want a Big Mac haha.
Glad your coping well! I'm just busy sorting my spare room out while I have some energy and coming across some old stuff I misplaced!
We were in the middle of re decorating and extending the kitchen so the place is a tip at the moment which is stressing me out!
Xx

BecsterG · 31/03/2020 18:12

@AlviesMam been there. We renovated when I was heavily pregnant with my son. Knocked the wall down between the kitchen and dining room and lots more. It was a stressful time but it was all finished by the day I finished for maternity leave. Phew! We were about to start upstairs before all their happened, new bathroom and all so we'll need to do it quickly once we're allowed. I'll then be stressed ha ha

Whiffle77 · 31/03/2020 19:50

I cant stop eating aaarrgghhh!! Would love a big mac now you've written that 😂
We are also in the middle of building works, it's not too bad at the minute but we had lots planned in april. I was thinking even if they restart everything, will we be able to have it done if we are classed as vulnerable? Just so many odd things to think about.
Hope everyone is ok today. Every day I am pleased to get safely towards the end of the day which is sad, but it's another day closer to 5 weeks...and then 6...and so on.

Whiffle77 · 31/03/2020 19:52

Hi to @MrsB16 too, sorry to hear of your loss but you are in the right place.
How are you today @BS9790 are you feeling better?

BecsterG · 31/03/2020 20:17

Totally get you @Whiffle77. That's how I have thought throughout this pregnancy so far.

Not sure about the building works. If they start again I'd imagine it would be up to you if you're comfortable with having people in your house who could have the virus. We'll be in the same position but I need everything done by August really so my wee boy can get settled in his new room long before the baby arrives (fingers crossed we get that far).

I'm eating all the time. Need to stop but can't!

We were doing a renovation when I was pregnant with my daughter. it was meant to be finished way before she waa born and we only got a kitchen when she was almost 4 months old haha! It was a big project knocking 3 rooms together - so much dust and mess! The day she was born, we had no lighting and the poor midwife filled the pool from a little tube in the wall as we had to tap! All whilst wearing a head torch because of no lights! It was mad but I hope that's a little survival story for you doing house things that even if it doesn't get completed in time, it'll be okay!

Zoey36 · 31/03/2020 22:01

we had *no tap

BecsterG · 01/04/2020 07:45

Wow @Zoey36 that's quite a birth story. How did you find the home birth? My SIL is due at the end of this month and she might have to have a home birth as they're encouraging that right now to keep people out of the hospitals.

Hey all, we've all made it to another Wednesday, and this weekend I'll be six weeks so really looking forward to passing that point after seeing how much the percentage of miscarriage drops by then.

But obviously also looking ahead to the 12 week scan like so many of you, as that's when I found out things had stopped last time.

My back has completely gone, I wasn't doing a darn thing, just stretched in the night and pointed my toes , then TWANG... My lower back was fluffed.

I think it's some kind of first trimester thing , maybe increased hormones, blood flow, god only knows, but it happened with my first pregnancy around this time as well.

I know I need a muscle relaxant like diazapam but i will obviously tell the doctor when he rings back I'm pregnant because I'm pretty sure it's not advisable in the first trimester.

I think being grateful for small Mercy's in these situations is so important so I'm focusing on the fact I'm not also feeling terribly sick as well. Thank God. Currently in the fetal position , ironically!

AlviesMam · 01/04/2020 09:52

@BecsterG yes that's what we are doing combining our kitchen and dining room to make a bigger kitchen! God knows when it will be finished!

@Whiffle77 honestly a Big Mac was all I was dreaming of haha! And yes each day is a step closer and we will get through it together!

@Zoey36 wow that seems like one big project I feel better now haha!

@ChampooPapi the time will fly by! Hormones can relax all your muscles so totally normal for your back to go! Get lots of rest and enjoy all these symptoms it's all good signs!

I'm 9 weeks today. Although I've seen a heartbeat I'm still getting nervous. Apparently at this stage the baby's heart has separated into four chambers... my last pregnancy was a miscarriage at 22 weeks due to the baby having half a heart I'm getting so nervous now :( although tests came back to state it wasn't genetics so that's a massive positive but I'm so scared as it's getting closer.

Still being sick, headaches have came on now, still extremely picky with food and boobs feel bruised! All good signs but this seem to be the first day I'm actually starting to really have anxiety now.

Happy Wednesday all xx

ChampooPapi · 01/04/2020 10:12

@AlviesMam thanks yes I thought it must be pregnancy related! I will endeavour to rest and I am feeling positive even though it's obviously a real bugger, worse happens at sea and it'll kill a few days nursing it. I do feel like time is going fast, there is so much distraction with home schooling my ten year old, preparation for her 11 plus, and wrangling the 2 year old. Oh maybe that's back related too! 😆

All the best to you ♥️

Zoey36 · 01/04/2020 13:42

@BecsterG I LOVED giving birth at home. And it wasn't all perfect like lots of home birth stories you hear! She didn't breathe for a loooooong 12 minutes. Her head was born 7 minutes before her body! But the midwives aced it and they carry all the stuff they need to sort things out like that - no different to how it would have been managed in hospital except they probably would have performed episiotomy, and had lots of people rush in! It was creally calm with just us there!

AlviesMam · 01/04/2020 16:51

Midwife just rang to book my 16 week appointment.
Feel really well supported as my consultant and midwife have been intouch the last two weeks which is great.
She was the same midwife I seen last time who let me listen to Alvies heartbeat. :( feeling emotional x

Whiffle77 · 01/04/2020 17:29

Ahhh big love @AlviesMam that's nice that you have a connection with her x

BS9790 · 02/04/2020 09:51

I went for a private scan yesterday, anxiety was just getting too much to deal with.

All good, measuring a few days in front and good strong heartbeat. So loss of symptoms and cramps was nothing to worry over... Phew!
2 weeks until my nhs dating scan, hoping I can stay calm now for the next fortnight!

Whiffle77 · 02/04/2020 10:07

Where did you find open @bs9790 ? All the ones near me seem to be shut!
Glad you got some reassurance and all is well! Really pleased for you

BS9790 · 02/04/2020 10:54

@whiffle77 I went to one in Leeds.
I found a few which were open near to me, they were only offering certain scans which can be classed as medical... So early scans and reassurance scans. No gender scans etc taking place.
I'm glad we went, feel like a huge weight has been lifted and also my hubby was able to come in with me. Probably be the last scan he gets to see!! X
