Hi Ladies, hoping you all can join soon. The TTC (trying to conceive) after MC (miscarriage) January group have been so supportive I hope we can keep it up for those who have BFP (big fat positive).

Really worried. Didn't have sex last night but we had abit of fun which resulted into abit of excitment. And this morning I've had brown spotting and I'm still getting it only while wiping. Feel sick with worry

BecsterG · 23/03/2020 13:16

@AlviesMam oh no what a worry. Brown blood is old blood though so that's maybe a good thing. You might have just knocked something. I had a bit of brown spotting with my DS and all was fine. Is it worth calling EPU?

I had my scan this morning ladies. I felt so sick with nervous as I waited to go in. All good with the baby though and I've been moved forward two days so I'm 13+2 today. They couldn't get the downs measurements as the baby wasn't playing ball so I'm back for bloods next week. I'm so relieved. It's been a long waiting getting to this stage.

Got in for a scan today due to my history.... strong heartbeat and measuring 8 weeks so I must have ovulated a week late as I thought! Im so relieved after spotting this morning!!! 🙏🏼

FireflyGirl · 23/03/2020 16:13

Congratulations on your scans today, ladies! Glad all is well.

So glad to hear that everything went well, @BecsterG. Cheeky bean, not playing ball Grin

Must have been so reassuring!

BecsterG · 23/03/2020 16:15

@AlviesMam ♥️

AlviesMam · 23/03/2020 21:44

@shhhhs ❤️❤️

shhhhs · 24/03/2020 09:17

Morning girls, hope everyone is feeling ok? Quick question, did you have routine NHS early scans this time around because of previous MC? I'm sure because of lockdown they may not happen now anyway but just wondering if this is something that is normally available?

AlviesMam · 24/03/2020 09:31

No I had to ring for one but only because I was spotting! They said they would have done another reassurance scan on me in a weeks time but they can't offer that due to what's going on xxx

shhhhs · 24/03/2020 09:35

Ah ok, thanks @AlviesMam. We were going to pay for one at about 9 weeks if they didn't offer one but I expect they are closed now too. How's the sickness today?

AlviesMam · 24/03/2020 09:38

@shhhhs not sure if they are closed or not maybe give them a ring!
Sickness has been bad through the night and this morning :( I'm laid on the sofa feeling hungover... honestly I feel dreadful, I also have lower back,hip groin and leg ache all the way to my knees so I can't get comfy either way :( how are you? Xxx

shhhhs · 24/03/2020 09:45

@AlviesMam oh no!!! That sounds awful 😣 the positive you can take from all those symptoms though is that you've obviously for a very healthy pregnancy going on there ♥️ but definitely speak to your doctor, I'm sure they'd be able to offer something to help. When I was pregnant first time I was really reluctant to ask for medications but as soon as I did it was a game changer! I'm only 5 weeks but can already relate to that hungover feeling 🤢

AlviesMam · 24/03/2020 09:49

@shhhhs I know I'm so grateful for all of these symptoms but it's such a dreadful feeling. It's the aching of my legs I can't deal with I can't get comfy! My husband is going to have to help me out with the house today.... I feel so lazy but everything im doing is making me feel sick!
How are your symptoms? Xx

shhhhs · 24/03/2020 09:52

@AlviesMam that's so tough. I really feel for you, it's not pleasent at all. Definitely rest and leave your hubby to the work!! I feel ok apart from nausea, but it's very manageable and my two year won't let me chill out anyway 😂 I hope you start to feel better soon 😘

Zoey36 · 24/03/2020 13:22

Hi everyone and to anyone new too :D
I'm 12+2 now wahoo and the sickness is lifting! I have a scan a week today but I'm not decided whether to go or not. I've not read enough to make an informed decision really. I had a scan at 10 weeks and everyone looked okay for 10 weeks but the skull hadn't ossified so that's in the back of my mind but just say there was a problem and it was discovered next week, how would anything be different to discovering at a 20 week scan,which I would go to.? Thinking aloud really!

People asking about reassurance scans- I had a scan at 6w, 8w and 10w under the miscarriage clinic here so you'd have to had had 3+ miscarriages to go through the miscarriage clinic. I know of other women who were offered scans not through the clinic but I think it really varies trust to trust!

shhhhs · 24/03/2020 13:51

Hi @zoey36, how lush to be past the 12 week mark!! And reassuring to have had a few scans now. Must be great knowing things are going along nicely after all you've been through in the past! No advice on the next scan really, you've just got to do what feels right for you.

BecsterG · 24/03/2020 18:42

Hi ladies,

@Zoey36 I just had my dating scan yesterday, I'm 13+3 and I would recommend it as long as you're well as they can do the downs measurements plus the babies grown so much from 10 weeks. That's what I'd say anyway but really do why you thinkZ it's a long wait until 20 weeks.

@shhhhs I was told after my MC in November to call between 6-8 of next pregnancy and they would scan me so I had a scan at 7+5 and 9+5 through early pregnancy unit but I'm in Scotland and I think everywhere is different. Might be worth asking though?

@BecsterG I definitely will, thanks 😁

Zoey36 · 24/03/2020 19:40

@BecsterG so glad your scan went well! My midwife called earlier (I love her already! We are on the same wavelength completely and she was just so very friendly-sounding!) Anyway, she said that it's important in terms of dating and for the screening. But I have an EDD from the 10 week scan and I don't want the screening so she said not to bother if I didn't want to so I think I'll cancel it - I've had more than my fair share of scans anyway!

BecsterG · 25/03/2020 08:56

Fair enough @Zoey36 your choice. My dates were brought forward two days from my 10 week scan to Monday when I went. I thought I was 13 exactly but was told I was 13+2.

That's great you are on the same wavelength. I don't think I'll have the same midwife all the way through. I'm consultant lead for a few reasons. Really hope my 16 week appointment isn't over the phone as I'd love to hear the heartbeat if I can.

OP posts:
Zoey36 · 25/03/2020 10:59

@BecsterG I'll have her throughout but not guarantee that she will make the birth! They aim to but obviously if she isn't working she can't! She told me my first appointment will be at 28 weeks but she can come round if there are any concerns before then. I have a daughter already so don't feel like I'm missing out really but I think this would be a really hard time as a first time mum. :(
