Moving maternity care to different hospital during pregnancy?

Has anyone done this? I have recently moved house so want to switch care to a closer hospital but they’re treating me like a new pregnancy - I have appointments for the 90 min initial consultation, a scan, blood tests etc etc. I have been through this with my current hospital and totally up to date with everything - can’t they just apply for my medical records and then meet with me to check all info is correct rather than redoing everything? 😭

If you transfer care you have to rebook the pregnancy with the new trust. You’ll have the initatial booking appointment (but will be quicker if you take your current notes). Bloods and scans need to be redone so it is on the new hospitals system and is up to date. Information regarding your blood group, position of placenta and growth of baby is important and the new hospital will want to undertake their own investigations rather than take the word of another hospital. Once that’s all done it will be appointments as per your plan of care

Yes I did at 34 weeks.

They re-did bloods and that was about it.

Was fine.

I did at 31 weeks. Redid bloods which makes sense as they need your blood group in their system. They offered scan but were happy enough with me providing reports from my previous hospital so I didn’t have any extra.

I did, literally nothing had to be done again I just told them when I would have had my next appointment.
