Baby weight at 31 weeks compared to birth

Hi ladies. I had a midwife appointment this week and she estimated that baby was 3.9lb. I know the bump measurement isn't exactly accurate but I'd be really interested to hear what other's babies were weighing at this stage and what the eventual birth weight was.

Not what you wanted exactly as my baby is still snug inside but at 32 weeks he was weighed up at 4.9lbs which I was told was about 1lb above average and I can expect a baby at 8.5lbs roughly.
This tells me your baby was weighing up at average for gestation so you can expect average birth weight too, maybe 7.5lbs?

Thank you @Engard!

Don't know those exact dates , but at 34 weeks my daughter was estimated at 5lbs 4oz and was born 3 days before her due date at 7lbs 8oz .

But it can vary a lot and scan estimates can be way off , my first daughter was estimated to be around 5 pounds was induced the next day and she was 6lbs 6oz .

Oh just saw it was a bump estimate not scan , again in can vary alot, I always measured small !

Not quite the same dates, but my DTs were weighing 5lb 12oz and 5lb 13oz at their 33+5 scan, and were born at 36+5 weighing 6lb 6oz and 7lb 3oz.

Old fashioned theory which I found actually very accurate was this :
From 32 weeks - an ounce a day except Sunday...
I had a scan at 32 weeks and had ds at 35 weeks. Exactly as I predicted!! 5-7.

i really wouldn't worry about anything to do with weight estimates.

they were convinced right at the last minute my DS1 was big, with a scan, he was born the following morning 6lb2oz seventh centile.

so, with DS2, it was extra growth scans and then more growth scans because they thought he was also 'small'. had probably 6 extra growth scans, and separate consultant appts, what a work up. then they were just about to induce me on xmas eve Angry as they thought he was slowing down, had one last scan which came back 3.3kg so they let me go. anyway he was born the other day and he was 8lb7oz and split my poor fanny in two. they mean nothing! i don't know why they don't just check everything is there, check the cord flow and leave it at that.

I had a growth scan last time at 31 weeks which is arguably more accurate than a bump measure (based on femur length, stomach size & head circumference) & they predicted my baby would be close to 10lbs at birth! She was born a week late at 8lbs in the dot Hmm All that worrying for nothing!

At a 31 week scan this time, they are predicting 3lbs 1oz at the mo based on femur, stomach & head but bump wise at 31 weeks, I’m on a higher centile & predicted to be around 3lb 9oz 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve no idea what to believe! I’m hoping this one will be average too!
