Idiot - did botox and it turns out I'm pregnant

I've just done a pregnancy test and found out that I'm pregnant. A happy surprise as we weren't trying and my period only came back a few weeks ago after I finished breastfeeding (I have an 8 month old and a 2.5 year old) so wasn't really thinking of protection.

I've been feeling a bit rubbish lately - and there was a deal on at the lovely beauty place near - and so I got some facial botox on Monday. I knew vaguely I'd had sex with my partner in a risky fertile time this month (only occurred to me afterwards) and so I did an early pregnancy test on Sunday (prior to the botox) which was negative. But have just done one this afternoon and it's come back positive (my period would have been due tomorrow).

Has anyone had this issue before? I'm googling botox during pregnancy and I'm finding horrible results from tests done on mice. I can not believe I was so stupid!!! I just called the doctor (I've got a Babylon subscription) and he said would just have to do more scans as soon as etc.

Ugh. Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Hi, no personal advice from me but there was a thread on this a few months ago one poster had a consultant confirm it was fine.

I'm sure it is not a problem, I mean we are all eating veg with pesticides on it and most of us drank alcohol before we found out we were pregnant. I'm sure babies are sturdier then they are given credit for.

I have a friend that had lip fillers when she knew she was pregnant and didn’t have an issue. I guess the risk is there but hopefully there’s a tiny chance.
Sounds like your doc is going to take it seriously and keep an eye on you! Fingers crossed it’s all fine.
Someone smarter than me will be along but isn’t there something about fillers and Botox stay in place so only a tiny amount actually ends up in your blood stream....? (I have never had either but this is what the friend told me) x

Than you so much both! That is reassuring - especially the link (didn't see it in my previous search on the topic, so thanks for sharing. I will try and not overly stress!

I was going to get some as a pick me up after my mmc but was told not to if ttc. I think there must be thousands of women with Botox who accidentally get pregnant or don't even think about it. I'm sure it'll be fine. Try not to worry
