Twins obsession

I'm a first time mom and 13 weeks pregnant. I always wanted twins in my life. I've had 2 scans so far and they found one baby. The baby is healthy and I'm more than grateful for having this baby but my mind is still stuck with twin obsession. Although, I have accepted that I will be having a healthy singleton and I'm happy with it but deep down inside, I still hope that the sonographer has missed a twin. What if second fetus is smaller than the other and hiding behind? I've been told by many that it is a singleton pregnancy and I should stop hoping for twins but I believe in miracles. I dont know how to stop rooting for twins. Anyone here with twins obsession?

Why does being there for each other mean agreeing with everything in MN all of a sudden.
I’ve never said this but I’m starting to think a quarter of users nowadays need netmums

OP this isn't healthy for you. You are unlikely to ever have twins and you need to come to terms with that. I think having an actual baby will help crack your obsession. Obsessions aren't nice to have. They fill us with anxiety and disapointment and keep us from enjoying what is actually in front of us. Good luck with your pregnancy.

I'm wondering weather it's the same thing as gender disappoint that you have got.
Maybe worth chatting to your midwife to see if she can help.

@RhubarbBikini your username made me snort 😂😂.

I do agree though, I do think some posts on Mumsnet are ridiculously harsh, but I don't think this one has been. However I do think you need to seek help OP.

Isn't having twins like a 1 in a 1000 chance or something maybe higher if it runs in families or ivf but it is rare.

It’s 1 in 80
