Unexpected 3rd pregnancy...

Hi all,
Just need to vent really. So I have a 3 year old DD and a 6 month old DS. My little girl was such an easy baby. My little boy has been hard going, allergies, reflux, colic. We are making good progress now and he is settled. We are in a nice routine.

Me and my partner had decided that we didnt want anymore kids. I'm 39 this year and he has just turned 40. I am on birth control and was booked for a coil to be fitted next week.

So my period is late. I put off taking a test because I was scared. Turns out I am pregnant.

I haven't told my partner yet, going to tell him tonight. Money is tight since I got made redundant so am currently a stay at home mum. I was looking forward to when both would be at pre school/school so I could get a job and could ease the financial burden my partner has. However now that wont really be feasible.

Has anyone else been in this situation?? Are 3 kids alot harder than 2??

I’ve just had my third child last month. My other two are school age so I can’t vouch for such a small age gap but honestly so far having 3 isn’t that much different from having 2.
It’ll be tough at times but think how cute they’ll all be together during the good times.

Thank you for your reply. I look at how cute these 2 are together and it does give me hope that another will just add to that. My DD loves her baby brother to pieces.

Maybe it’ll be twins? Grin I’m just joking. Let us know how it goes, at least it’s Friday so you can give your DH a stiff drink before you tell him Smile

Haha twins run in both sides of our family...!! Can you actually Imagine!

Well DH is going out for a few drinks for his friends birthday, so will break the news when he gets back lol wish me luck x

Flowers let me know how he responds!
Maybe tell him you think it’s twins so that suddenly just one extra will be easy Grin

Sorry it's taken me ages to reply! Well I broke the news.. first he laughed hysterically lol then couldn't wipe the grin off his face Smile I keep asking him if hes happy and he says yes he is very happy. So I guess here we go again lol

That's great news, glad he's happy about the situation! I was in a similar situation to you, I was in birth control, had a 12 year old,13 month old and found out I was pregnant again. Was super scared to tell my partner as we definitely didn't intend on having another straight away. When I told him he was really happy! I was shocked and now we couldn't be happier. Third hasn't arrived yet but fingers crossed for you that it all goes smoothly. Hopefully with yours being so close together it'll be easier in terms of getting back to work and doing what you want to do when they all go to school. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. I think the shock has worn off a bit, and I am excited to have another so is dp. I'm more scared about labour. The last one was quite traumatic for me and fast. Hoping that I don't spend the whole pregnancy worrying about that!

Good luck with baby 3 for you. Let me know how it is lol x
