TTC - Worried I'm too old!

Hi everyone. Complete newbie to mumsnet.
So, I already have 3 children - 19, 12 and 6 years. Hubby and I thought we were done...
BUT in November last year I had a complete change of heart lol I suddenly desperately wanted another baby and it would seem Hubby felt the same!
I had the mirena coil in for almost 1 year and had it removed Dec 16th. 2 days after removal I started bleeding (Period from HELL) and didn't stop bleeding until January 10th! It was horrible. Anyway, I think I ovulated on January 14th as I had ewcm and terrible ovulation pains in my right side. Cheapy Opk never went positive but was the darkest it had been. Ewcm cleared up on the 15th, although i intend to keep at it until AF is due. I have quite strong period pains that radiate through to my back. Quite confused about that but just waiting for period due date (rough guess) to see if our baby dancing worked lol
Thing is, I'm 38 and obese and worried that my fertility isn't what it was 😔
Any of you here, in the same boat?
I'm taking pregnacare and coq10 and have overhauled my diet (lost a stone already) I'm just hoping I can catch
Anyone who got this far down my waffling, thanks for reading lol

Hi Smile I was 39 when I got pregnant. Have you bought any ovulation tests? My advice would be carry on being really healthy and don’t stress!

Can take a while for your period to settle after taking a coil out regardless of age.

Similar, I have a 19yo, 10 and 8yo. We started ttc #4 at 38 and had him a few weeks after my 40th. He is now 5m and an absolute darling and just a joy.

Wishing you all the best!

@Hoping4no4 I'm hoping for no 5, I was 40 last week and overweight. I had 4 miscarriages last year 2 straight forward ones and 2 weird and traumatic ones, still I'm not giving up, I'm at the gym everyday and healthy eating. Taking my vitamins and extra folic acid and lots of extracurricular activities lol!! What a journey it is! I'm trying to just focus on my health first and baby second at the moment as last year was super stressful and I out on an awful lot of weight because I was scared to exercise through the 2ww etc!! IV had lots of friends tell me of babies born after there 40s it's so common now there's hope for us 🥰!! Anyways good luck with your journey, it would be nice to keep us posted as I go through these threads and people just stop.posting and I wonder how there journey went lol! Xxx

Thank you so much elles1980. I'm sorry you've had such a rough time 😔 I have everything crossed for you that things will work out right for you soon. Must have been awful.
I'm currently a size 20, the numbers on the scales are going down though 😊 like you I'm trying to concentrate on my health to lessen any problems that may arise.
I will definetly keep this thread updated don't worry.
Baby dust to us all x
