Third trimester constipation - end in sight?

Apologies for the TMI but I have been suffering from constipation throughout my pregnancy (now 31 weeks). I’ve been given various medications (lactoluse, fybogel) and am also eating plenty of fibre, drinking prune juice and a lot of water.

I’m not in agony anymore (going a bit more frequently than I was) but the problem is definitely still there and I’ve woken up again with that achey feeling in my tummy. I am just thoroughly fed up with it and can’t wait to go like a normal person again.

I guess I’m just looking for reassurance and to hear other’s experiences. Is this going to haunt me until baby is born or is the ‘clear out’ that I keep reading about not far off?

Suffered from constipation from 6 weeks up to 35weeks, I'm now 37weeks and oh boy you can't stop me pooping! Im not sure if it will be like this for everyone but it eased up with vengeance ❤

@fibeee can you tell me what you mean by agony? I had a TERRIBLE night last night - cramping getting so bad I was in a cold sweat, I worried I was miscarrying. I also felt like I should be on the toilet, but nothing happened from that end aside from some tummy rumbles...
Abdo is still tender today - can constipation be that painful? It feels bowel related, but I’ve never had pain like that before

@Nelbert19

I haven’t had cramping like that. Painful trapped wind, bloating and tummy ache I’ve had with it. I did have a sharpish pain on the right side of my tummy that the GP sent me up to hospital to get checked out. The hos dr said it was most likely constipation related and said that she’s seen people be admitted to a&e with the pain of it.

My kind of agony was the kind that comes from literally shitting bricks every 10 days or so. Tears and piles and lovely things like that Wink
