Hi everyone,

I work eight hours a day on my feet four times a week. I'm only 17 weeks pregnant and i didn't think this could happen this early but i think i have siatica. I have a sharp shooting pain from my left lower back down my bum and into my leg, it's really bad on my work days, every now and then i also get shooting pain up my bum that nearly takes my breath away.

I also have started getting numbness down the front left thigh which i did have before from standing on my feet but it went and now during pregnancy it's back, and also after being on my feet all day, my feet in the evening feel like i can't put them on the ground they are that sore. This has all just gotten bad the past week or so, and i don't even have a big pregnant belly yet. I am a bit over weight anyway, but have actually lost weight so far.

I'm just wondering has anyone else experienced this? and is there anything i can do? I work in a customer facing environment where i'm on my feet all the time, i can sit down for five minutes but this doesn't actually help, i can't see how i'm going to keep working with this pain. Is signing off sick my only option?

Thanks

im 19 weeks and been having this on and off for a while. i think its the way the baby is layed.

I sit down in my job so its managable for me, not sure what you can do for it. Apparently certain exercises (have a google). If not i would speak to your GP or midwife see what they say.

How long have you had it, it kept coming and going for me?

i feel it to some level every day for the past couple of weeks but the days i'm in work it's relentless as i'm on my feet for the whole time! I've been doing exercises which help on normal the normal days
