Maternity Jeans - how do I select?

I'm just in 2nd trimester and needing to get some soon as feeling tight in normal ones now.

The Independent recommends the Lily&Ribbon Sophia Stonewash which look lovely. They say they lost for months through your pregnancy. But their website asks you for a 'waist measurement'. There is no guidance as to what exactly they mean. How on earth do you know?? Is this meant to be under bump, to the current bump size?? But this is going to change rapidly? Has anyone bought these jeans? Help please!

H&M are the best I've had. Lasted through 3 pregnancies, nice fit and a range of styles and colours. Not too expensive either, and usually lots going cheap on ebay if you want to try out a few different styles/ save some money.

Always got mine from newlook, good price and stretchy!! Found h&m too tight around the crotch to walk😑

H&M are all you need. Buy a size bigger and they will last amazingly! Asda used to do the absolute best but they're discontinued 😩😩

Another vote for H&M here! Plus they were the only high street shop locally who had maternity clothes in stock so I could actually try things on.

Also H&M - top shop didn’t work for me, constantly fell down

I've got a couple of pairs from H&M too and find them comfy. Also noticed River Island have started selling them online if you fancied something a bit more fashionable?

Still tempted to get a pair of Santa Pants though Smile

Another one for H&M. I find them stretchy enough that I can buy my size and they last throughout.

I've tried the H&M ones on and I didn't like them. The bum felt too low and saggy because of the denim being under bump and the elastic bit over the bump, and the bit where they joined dug into me. I like the look of these Serephina ones but I don't get what they mean when they ask you to select waist size...

I got mine from asda george and they are so comfy! im thinking why cant we wear things like this all the time!!

AbelMartinez · 16/01/2020 20:00

Serephine are amazing! Cheap, stylish and really comfortable. Go for over bump, you wont want to wear normal jeans ever again!

You usually just need to get your pre-pregnancy size. Most places are online order only and do free returns, so are you able to buy a couple of sizes and return the ones that don’t fit?

For what it’s worth, I’ve been wearing GAP maternity jeans this pregnancy and find them really good.
