Liklihood of a sweep Today?

I'm 38.6 w today.
MW only does clinic on a weds.
So. Each apt say 36, 38 etc has been closer to 37, 39 iyswim

So Today is classed as my 38w despite being 39 tomorrow.

So my 40w apt will be near enough 41 if I go that far.

Wodnering if she'll offer me a sweep Today I'll have dd £
(22m)with me so wondering whether to take her pushchair for her to sit in just Incase. As she normally sits on the bed listening to the baby's HB. .

Not that one worked with dd.

I didn’t think it was standard before 40w but if you want one take the pushchair and ask?

I didn't think it was either. It's just next apt I'll be 40. 6 so crossed my mind.

I asked for a sweep at 39+2 with my 2nd baby and was told no, under absolutely no circumstances would she do it before my due date. Even though they did with my 1st. Apparently there are different rules depending on whether it's your 1st, 2nd or 3rd baby etc. I think it just depends on the midwife so I would ask if I was you. Hopefully you get one, turned out I didn't need one as I went onto labour naturally 2 days later.

I asked for a sweep at 38+6 because I have awful SPD and want things to move quickly but it was denied so I won't be able to have one until after 40 weeks. Some trusts are different, I've known women who have had sweeps every few days from 38 weeks

Why not see if you can have an appointment next Wednesday instead of waiting 2 weeks so then you will be 39.6?

They didn't have an apt for next weds she thne said oh it'll be the weds after.. I said I'll be 40+6 then.. She said oh yeah. So could I go to a clinic other side of city on the Tuesday where she'd be So Be 39+5.. I will ask then. That's ds birthday tho lol

Hi you must have alresdy had your MW appointment today but i am still messaging here, the doctors can give u a sweep after 38 weeks but Mid wife can't before it's 40 weeks..

Check your local children's centres, they often have a midwife drop in. Try your luck there!
