Whooping cough jab - haven't been offered it

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and haven't been offered this yet. I do have an appointment with my midwife at the end of this week - is she likely to bring it up then? I do want to make sure I have it as I've read that it's important for the baby!

You can just ask for it. Either bring it up with the midwife at your next appointment, or just book in for the jab at gp reception. It only takes a minute, so they just tagged it on to the end of one of my appointments.

Hi Op usually you have to book that in yourself with your GP surgery your midwife advises you between 16 weeks etc to book in to have it done the midwife doesn't do the injection it has to be done by your practice nurse.
Just give them a call and they will book you in
All the best with the rest of your pregnancy Smile

I was told at my booking appointment a few weeks ago to book it at my GP surgery. I would give you GP a ring and ask

As PP said. You just arrange it yourself. Ring gp and they'll book it in. Same as flu jab.

Ah - I didn't realise! I will get it booked in on Friday, as I'll be at my GP's surgery for my midwife appointment anyway. Thanks for the advice!

That's ok. Did u have flu jab?
I did mine at Boots as their appointment times were more suitable.

I was told I'd get mine at the hospital when I go for my 20 week scan. I'd definitely ask them about it.

jadelouiselaird · 15/01/2020 13:50

midwife mentioned it to me at the booking appointment, but nothing since. I just booked it with my GP, i have it next week i will be 20 weeks.

Id just ring your GP and book yourself in
