Ooohhh exciting times! Good luck

paperplant · 13/01/2020 20:22

what kind of induction?
are you getting a sweep before or have already?

It's my due date today and I've been booked for a sweep next week, if that fails induction (double balloon) in 12 days.

Fingers crossed labour will start spontaneously before that!

Boymummy3 · 13/01/2020 20:26

I have a sweep on Thursday but been told I'll probally be induced at 40 weeks (in 13 days) if that doesn't work. I hope I go into labour naturally before then after all you don't always read great induction stories. Good luck

Aimzxo · 13/01/2020 20:34

Thanks ladies!!

When I'm induced I'll be 38 weeks so there doing it with pessaries to start with

I'm hoping itll happen naturally too coz you read so many horror stories!!

I know every labour and induction is different but you definitely read more horror stories than good lol

Don't worry about induction! It only took 3 hours with a pessary to get my baby girl out. ❤️

Hi OP, I'm due to be induced on Friday. I will be 38weeks with baby number 2.

I had an induction with my first as I went overdue. I needed the drip, as the pessary didn't work for me. I won't lie, it was painful, but I got the pain relief I needed. I don't consider it a bad experience and am fairly relaxed about being induced again - so it can't be that bad Smile

Murph90 · 13/01/2020 21:14

I am also being induced next week due to baby measuring big. I will be 39 weeks.

Also a bit anxious about it’s meant to more painful and can take days if the pessary doesn’t work/they don’t have room on delivery. However, trying to go in open minded!

Engard · 13/01/2020 22:08

I'm so envious at you all getting your babies!! I'm 38 weeks and will probably be in the club another 4 weeks

Aimzxo · 13/01/2020 22:36

Let's hope we all have speedy and ok delivery!! But we will all have our babies which is the main thing it's just scary knowing it's going to happen but not knowing what's going to expect! Especially as it's my first

I wish you ladies all the luck and we will have to keep each other updated!

@Engard I must say that is the one thing I am taking as the silver lining to needing an induction... the fact I can’t go over!

Hopefully you will have one who is prompt!

Good luck everyone :)

It's induction day for me tomorrow. Got to ring in the morning to find out what time to go in.

I'm hoping I'll have an hour or two before I have to go in as I'm not quite ready at home. I only finished work yesterday afternoon. I'm being induced early (38weeks) and so had been banking on the extra two weeks to get a bit more organised.

Eeek!

kittycat01 · 16/01/2020 20:39

@BlackKittyKat Wishing you all the best and make sure you update us once your baby has arrived.

Xyzzzzz · 16/01/2020 20:40

I was induced at 39 weeks and 3 hours later my baby was born. 1st labour too so it might be ok and quick.

BlackKittyKat · 16/01/2020 21:05

Thank you! I'll keep you posted.

Got to try and get some sleep now!

Engard · 17/01/2020 08:31

Happy induction day!! @BlackKittyKat

BlackKittyKat · 17/01/2020 09:47

Thanks @Engard.
Just arrived at the hospital Smile

Aimzxo · 17/01/2020 19:16

How tou getting on xx

BlackKittyKat · 18/01/2020 06:35

No news yet @aimzxo

I spent a long time being monitored yesterday before they could start the process. I had the propess around 2.30pm.

The propess hasn't worked on me so far. I got a few period-type pains when walking around but that's it.

Unfortunately, as I'm high risk due I've had to stay in hospital rather than go home like I did last time. It's a bit of a waiting game.

I'm not sure if they'll try another drug or put me straight on the drip.
